You may prefer fast food, I prefer to chew my way through the meat of the bible.
Don't get me wrong I misunderstand, make mistakes, but I seek to learn through them.
Fast food has a limited benefit and an over dependence on it is unhealthy.
People - your meat comes from Our Lord Jesus Christ - have you not read:
Gal 3:22 But the Scripture has shut up everyone under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
You don't get your bread or meat if you don't have faith in Jesus Christ!! His name is called the Word of God because He has the words of God that you need. it is written they will all be taught of God, but they is not everyone but those who believe. Or did we not read:
Is 30: 20,21 Although the Lord has given you bread of privation and water of oppression, He, your Teacher will no longer hide Himself, but your eyes will behold your Teacher.
Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left.
It is by personally listening to Him you get the explanation you need about the Scriptures!
For example - He once explain to me:
WHAT TEACHER DOESN’T PUT A BOOK IN FRONT OF HIS STUDENTS TODAY; YET NOT JUST A BOOK BUT OVERHEAD TRANSPARENCIES, VISUALS, AND OTHER MATERIAL? FOR I TELL YOU TRULY, IF THEY ARE NOT LISTENING TO ME THEY ARE NOT MY PUPIL, THEY ARE NOT MY STUDENT; I TELL YOU TRULY, THEY ARE NOT MY DISCIPLE UNLESS THEY ARE HEARING FROM ME. SO DON’T TELL THEM TO READ THE BOOK, THEM TO TAKE THE CLASS!”
Did you not even read:
Mar 9:7 Then a cloud formed, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, “This is My beloved Son, listen to Him!”
Or even the command from Moses:
Deut 6:4-6 “Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!
“You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
“These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart.
If you love The Lord our God you would seek Him and hear what He has to say to you, but you don't! And that "Hear, O Isreal" is the foremost command because that is the commandment that causes you to love Him - or can you not even consider that hearing from God who is love is what will cause you to love Him!!
Mark 12:28, 29 One of the scribes came and heard them arguing, and recognizing that He had answered them well, asked Him, “What commandment is the foremost of all?”
Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD;
So HEAR, O ISRAEL! is the foremost command, and from that you find out that "THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD;' and more importantly the listening to Him causes you to love Him!! The next verse reads:
Mark 12:30 AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.’
So if had kept the foremost command to hear from Him, then you would understand that He is the "LORD OUR GOD" and is One Lord!! and you would also "LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.’
Yet you are still thinking the meat comes from the Bible, and not Him explaining the Bible - and all things in your life - to you!!
But you are not the first to be like that - indeed many will tells Him on that day:
Mat 7: 22, 23 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’
“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’
Many are like that!! And so we find many arguing to lean on our understanding of the Bible instead of listening to Him. Thus they will never know Him, unless that changes!! And He wants that to change - and so He asks me and others through the years to encourage people to actually listen to Him so they will not perish on that day. Should you not become wise and hear those words of His, that He tells you personally - like the next verse explains:
Mat 7:24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.
You don't still think reading what the men who wrote the Bible is hearing His words do you?
Jn 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.
Jn 5:39 -41 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me;
and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.
“I do not receive glory from men;
Jn 5: 46-47 “For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me.
“But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”
