Tobacco has a lot of negatives as reported by the prohibitionist, it is highly addictive also, what are the positives to use?

This article is meant to restore history and not hide it from society. God's given plants for the life of man and death of organisms that are harmful to the body.

"Cigarette smoke dramatically impairs bacterial ingestion, but not the ingestion of inert particles." Impact of cigarette smoke exposure on host–bacterial pathogen interactions

"To rid a horse, cow, or hog of worms, an ounce or so of chewing tobacco mixed with a scoop or grain was fed to the animal, and within an hour, they would pass the worms. Pouring kerosene or motor oil on the waste killed any surviving adult worms and eggs." Lost Skills of Livestock Doctoring

Cowboys often used tobacco in concentrations and give it to cattle to cure worms. They used to dig in the dirt sometimes to plant fields back in the day, not sure they do now, but I know many like to plant fields today to make their own land fertile and enjoy fresh vegetables. Especially if a disaster, either man made or nature caused happens. They can go to a doctor to get worming meds, if doctors still exist or people have reasonable access to, and some people enjoy their chewing tobacco at concentrations enough to kill bacteria in their mouths and also worms that create tiny eggs in the soil that hatch sometimes at some point in the stomach of man.

For those who use snuff or chewing tobacco it will do the same for people as it does for cattle. And this was effective for those living out in wilderness areas without means to wash and disinfect food contact surfaces or foods or hands.

It also was good as a mild stimulant like coffee or tea....also a "tea" brewed from tobacco was good used as an insecticide. (Nicotine is poison)

Apparently also smoking tobacco (sold in a cloth pouch) was used as a scrubber used to remove "road film" that collected on windshields on vehicles when wipers were not as effective for rainy days. (Wiper tech has changed since....so has asphalt)

There was an article I found online about really old use after Jesus time and it fit some conditions I have that I needed relief from. Do you know of that information? I looked for it again and couldn't find anything again.

You don't believe factual information when presented to you? Concerned.
I'd be concerned thinking to promote smoking as healthy. It isn't.

I know folks that imagined chewing tobacco was safe and realized that was a lie after an oral cancer diagnosis. Or, removal of their remaining teeth because most others fell out or needed be pulled. The idea of a chew being healthier than a smoke is patently false.

Organic tobacco leaves are not the tobacco most of your OP addressed.
There's a difference between those crops and what is processed for the consumer market.

I already debunked all those lies the doctors tell people. I see you added to them as well.

There's no telling what's on the internet....lots of junk mostly.
It is an effective deformed because nicotine is poison. There's plenty of mutagens in tobacco as well....processed or not. And you do want processed tobacco as green, raw leaves are extremely abrasive, acidic and destructive to human tissues. People wear gloves when handling it for good reasons.

I did all the research on cancer and other problems they claimed tobacco caused and none of them were true. And the problem I see with that is that the ignorant public will see someone get cancer while using tobacco and ignore the murders that afflicted that person or persons with cancer. Most likely cancer is caused from radiation. Why is the USA lying about the dangers of tobacco? They will have to answer to God in judgment then, and it is my obligation to warn them about that.

See the following two articles that debunk the lies about tobacco and cancer:

Sin tax

Concerned about cancer...

So why would anyone tell someone that tobacco is going to kill them unless they had some devil or system that promoted fear of death that some said was sure to come for the tobacco users and studying the affects of what evil Psychologists have created which they call "anxiety" "panic attacks" and all manner of fearing the devil and death. They certainly are not with God.

God is not concerned about those lies from evil just the affect it has on his children.

The purpose of this thread is not to promote tobacco use, but instead to alleviate the lies and threats of death from evil that have been directed at tobacco users. Armed with the truth they can let go of those lies given them from evil societies of prohibitionist.

The percentage of non-smokers that got lung cancer in that study was around 25% while the smokers was 75%. That is odds at the casino really and difficult math for people to understand, I will attempt to explain that now. If 25% never smoked then 25% of the 75% that smoked must be removed from the smokers and placed with the "didn't matter if they smoked or nor and couldn't tell in 25% of the 75% that smoking meant anything in the odds".

"According to the American Cancer Society, as many as 20 percent of people in the United States who died from lung cancer in 2018—a total of roughly 30,000 people—never smoked." Lung Cancer in Nonsmokers

The number after further investigation was about 24% and not 20% which is very close to the 25% required to dismiss claims of cancer that were believed to have been caused from smoking.

Those saved by faith Christians say that if you quit fearing hell it is easier to not sin and thus obey the commandments. Is it the same for fearing death from tobacco. Jesus the Christ has the keys of hell and death. Look to him for relief. I have provided education on the matters from God with knowledge and wisdom. Can you discern that?

Tobacco use is also calming, among other benefits. And with that when you run out can be the opposite of calming. Like any drug from the doctors that can have side effects and withdrawals, it also has them and is an herbal remedy of God's created herbs. It has about 3 days of withdrawals and after quitting for that long it gets much easier, the first day is the worst though. I have quit for 10 years in my prior history.

So then tobacco does have some applications for being an herbal remedy. It is created by God. I'm sure the doctors would like to continue to experiment of people with complex chemicals they try on society that have similar benefits and perhaps less addictive. They would have to promote those complex chemicals since I won't. Do those complex chemicals cause cancer? Even after FDA approval it can take decades to find out if cancer is the result of using those medicines. Here is a huge list of drugs that have been discontinued, did they get FDA approval first?:

I already debunked all those lies the doctors tell people. I see you added to them as well.
When I was a little girl I loved to smell the sweet chewing tobacco in my grandfathers pouch. It wasn’t like the dip cans I see today but he’d have a paper pouch for chewing tobacco and I’d ask to smell it every time I went to visit him…oddly I found comfort in the sweet smell. I don’t smoke cigars (never have) but I would think some find comfort in a cigar.

But my grandfather did get oral cancer several times. Exactly where he put his chewing tobacco. My grandmother dipped. I struggle with smoking every single day. It does affect you. I have a smokers cough and I can tell you it’s different from a regular cough. Point is I don’t think they are lying about the harm of chewing tobacco or smoking. It’s pretty evident.

Oh one positive I’ve heard which could be an old wives tale is spitting chewing tobacco on a bee sting to soothe it. They say tea bags help too. Today we have Benadryl.

Good morning @VictoryinJesus.

If you're trying to quit I can pray for you, which is what people should be doing if they decide to quit.

The assumption that everyone is like your grandpa is a common mis-belief when people observe a few things while on this earth. I have several family members that are Mormon and had or died of cancer. None of them used tobacco. I know of a few people that died at old age of other things and did smoke and drink. You could just say at their age which is around 90+ that they died of old age and leave it at that.

I'm sorry you are having trouble. I will look things up for you if you would like to learn more. I have studied much and moved beyond the belief "it does affect you" when presented by others and directed at me. And that is important also when researching smokers vs non-smokers and cancer rates among those groups. We as Christians should be aware that God works and heals people, keeps whoever he wants alive and, in humble prayer, seek his healing and love as needed.

I'm not sure why some of the members of this thread are telling people something to the end result that they are going to die from tobacco, I am now concerned they didn't read the research I provided. Please refrain from promoting the false ideas of fear and death that the doctors are promoting.

About chew tobacco, that is covered in post #10 if you want to read it, it is the second link I provided in that post.

Is your grandfather still alive?

@VictoryinJesus have a look at this medical college information and I am hoping you see what I'm seeing:

"Cigarette smoking is overwhelmingly the main cause of lung cancer, yet only a minority of smokers develop the disease." Study Suggests Why Most Smokers Don’t Get Lung Cancer | Albert Einstein College of Medicine

Let's for a second just ignore the the quote and look at the webpage title. The title of the page says "Most smokers don't get lung cancer". But the word "most" is misleading perhaps.

In the substance of the webpage article it states: “This is likely one reason why so few non-smokers get lung cancer, while 10% to 20% of lifelong smokers do.” Study Suggests Why Most Smokers Don’t Get Lung Cancer | Albert Einstein College of Medicine

"10% to 20%" is a pretty small number so then 80% to 90% of lifelong smokers never get lung cancer.

So for that 80% to 90% of lifelong smokers there is no chance that they will get lung cancer.

Yet they don't state that on my cigarette packs.

God determines when we die and what illness he will allow us to go thru and we trust in him and worship the living God. Does that then throw off research into cancer? I believe it most certainly does. And that is part of the problem.

"According to the American Cancer Society, as many as 20 percent of people in the United States who died from lung cancer in 2018—a total of roughly 30,000 people—never smoked." Lung Cancer in Nonsmokers

When we address someone that doesn't smoke we cannot say they are safe from lung cancer.

When we address someone that does smoke we cannot say they will get lung cancer.

Therefore any language that does not address those issue logically might be false. And I have seen suspicious statements when searching about smoking and lung cancer on the internet.

How do we explain someone like George Burns who started smoking at 14 and lived to be 100?

Arthur Marx estimated that Burns smoked around 300,000 cigars during his lifetime, starting at the age of 14. In his final years, he smoked no more than four a day and he never used cigarettes or marijuana George Burns - Wikipedia

It's genetics....
Some people are genetically predisposed to tolerating tobacco and others are not.

I've said this before....just in a different way.

Some people will get emphysema and others barely get a scratchy voice after decades of smoking. And unless you know for certain....it's a gamble...with your life.
