I was talking to a 98 year old elderly lady the other day and I asked her what some of the key things she had learned in her years. Her answer was;

1. Be Patient
2. Be yourself

Those are pretty good answers and applying them to myself, I can see that I am relatively patient [I'm on D/U] and I think that one needs to be patient when on D/U. ;)

The other answer can be a little more complicated for some, as I have met so many people [believers and non- believers alike] who actually do not know who they are?

just some thoughts...

I would also like to know what D/U is.

By "be yourself," I suppose she means be genuine. Don't put on an act or try to elevate yourself socially.

If taken the wrong way "Be yourself" would be detrimental advice. It could be taken as a form of self-justification. It is better to conform to the image of Christ.

No more "Depends Undies" eh? Well then MIRACLES HAPPEN! I was wondering if someone else might have been thinking a little too out loud but surely laid renard was merely joking! (You have no choice in the matter now LR: you were indeed joking).

Here D/U stands for ...

Driving Under ....... (the influence of drugs or alcohol)

or

Down Under .... in regards to Australia

or

Dummy Up ... as in "smarten up"

I think that you will be greatly surprised to learn that some of the common words you use in your country [US] has a completely different meaning here ;) I would advise you not to speak them out loud if you ever come this way... :D

You mean when I say, "I want to put my Swede in your chilly bin during your smoko," it means something else down there?

I had a friend from New Zealand who would always bring me Vegemite but I never acquired a taste for it.

She was a neat gal .... fully trained geologist and had some helicopter time as well .... she would get 6 month contracts in Northern Canada and stop by my place for a visit on her way thru.

One year she had a 2 week vacation so I let her use my small rental house behind a business that i owned.

After a few days I noticed every man on the block seemed to be walking up and down the street and looking at something in my yard.

Out of curiosity I went over and took a look.

Apparently NZ girls regularly sunbathe topless. :) :) :)
