H. Richard said:
Can't you read and understand the attitude of the Jews towards the Gentiles. Peter was admonished because he went into a Gentiles house. Peter would never have gone into a Gentile house before Jesus gave him a dream. To do so would have made him unclean. The believing Jews were trying to kill Paul because he was going to the Gentiles. So how can anyone say that the Jews were, at that time a light unto the Gentiles. All of that was prophesied in the scriptures you gave but were for the future when Jesus sets up the Jewish kingdom on this earth.
Your assumption that Paul and the 11 taught the same gospel is just that. Based on the scriptures the believing Jews didn't want anything to do with the Gentiles.
Since you think as you do can you show me in the 4 gospel where Jesus and the 11 said that we are free from the condemnation of the law of Moses as Paul did? Show one place where the 11 said we are saved by the shed blood of Jesus on the cross.
Notice that in Acts 3:21 Peter is proclaiming things made known by the prophets since the world began. In contrast, in the book of Romans, 16:25, Paul is proclaiming things kept secret since the world began. Something made known cannot be a secret and something kept secret has not been made known. Notice that Peter proclaimed the crucifixion of Jesus as something for the Jews to repent of (Acts 2) where Paul proclaimed that he gloried in the cross of Christ (Gal 6:11-15) because it was the power of God unto salvation to all that believe in it.. Clearly, Peter and Paul proclaimed two different messages.
God had a hidden purpose for Jesus' death on the cross. It was “hidden in God” and revealed to Paul on the road to Damascus by Jesus. (Eph 3:9)
I've already shown you that Paul said he preached "NOTHING" other than what Moses and the Prophets said would come. That means what he preached came from Moses and the Prophets, not some other Gospel revealed to Him and no one else. Peter too preached what the Prophets said would come. The reason you see a difference is not because the Gospel was different, it was because to intended audience was different. The Jews had a knowledge of the OT Scriptures that Gentiles didn't.
The Christian hope is the same hope that the Jews have. It's land inheritance promised to Abraham. God made four fold promise to Abraham. He told him he'd be the father of a great nation, the father of many nations, That all the nations would be blessed through his Seed and that the land God showed him He'd give to him as a possession unto the ages.
14 And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:
15 For all the land which thou seest,
to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. (Gen. 13:14-15 KJV)
God promised the land to Abraham and his seed. The Jews thought that they were this seed, however, Paul said no, it was Christ.
16 Now
to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one,
And to thy seed, which is Christ. (Gal. 3:16 KJV)
The land was promised to Abraham and his Seed. Noter Isaac's words to Jacob.
And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan.
2 Arise, go to Padanaram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother's father; and take thee a wife from thence of the daughters of Laban thy mother's brother.
3 And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people;
4
And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee;
that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham. (Gen. 28:1-4 KJV)
Issac blesses Jacob that God would give to him the "Blessing of Abraham", that he might inherit the land. The "Blessing of Abraham" is to inherit the land that was promised to Abraham. The phrase the "blessing of Abraham" ony appears twice in Scripture. It appears here is Gen. 28 and in Galatians 3 where Paul applies it to the Gentiles.
7 Know ye therefore that
they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
9 So then
they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Gal. 3:7-14 KJV)
Paul said, "That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles." Notice he said those of faith were blessed with Abraham and that the of Abraham might come on the Gentiles. So, the earthly kingdom is for Jews and Gentiles, they both have the same hope. There is not a separate Gospel for the Jews. Both Jew and Gentile are looking for the same kingdom.
This was prophesied in the OT.
6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me,
Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8 Ask of me, and
I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. (Ps. 2:6-8 KJV)
Christ's inheritance is the uttermost parts of the Land. That's the land that was promised to Abraham. It's Christ's land and Paul said that believers are coheirs with Christ.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And
if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with
the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of
the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21 Because
the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. (Rom. 8:16-25 KJV)
Paul said the creation itself waits for the manifestation of the sons of God because the creation will be delivered from bondage to the children of God. So we see that Paul didn't see something different for the Gentiles. All believers have the same destiny no matter whether they're Jew or Gentile
