You said no suprise . augustine brought SOME of the heretical teachings he had learned with him
into his conversion . THAT my friend is bad news .

Of course it's bad news.
And the RCC accepted what he taught and then managed to explain his ideas in a different way to try to get out of unscriptural teachings.
But until recently, Catholics STILL were baptizing their babies because they believed that they'd otherwise go to hell.
So Augustine did a lot of damage to the church.
Also, I do want to say that by his time, the early church had begun to depart from the teachings of the early fathers....
those that were taught by the Apostles.

but todays love fest
sure seems to blend the table of belial and all false relgioins , even sins , with the table of CHRIST
or vice versa . YOU cant mix the unholy with the holy . EITHER YOU preach n teach TRUTH , JESUS THE CHRIST
or you teach a lie . but it CANNOT BE BOTH . one cannot preach a love of the world
and try and turn it into the love they cliam is of GOD . BUt todays christendom sure seems to think it can .

TIME to bible up and learn THAT version of GOD , THAT VERSION of CHRIST

AND the one they do serve , THAT ONE is a lamb killing machine and it will convince them TO RID THE EARTH

Agree-the Bible belt is no more-everyone out here to pontificate or philosophize and bring to the fore another gospel and Christ Jesus buried under creeds.
You stay anchored in Christ Jesus as I know you do.
Everyone that wants to live a godly life will be met with persecution.

the problem is most folks are starting all kinds of big word threads to lip and argue over stuff
AND YET MOST HAVE NO IDEA THE STRONG DELUSION IS HERE and its sucking the life out of everything that goes under it .
LEADING THIS WORLD and its religoins RIGHT TO PERDITOIN . WELL i am gonna do everything i can to warn
against that false love
and rather to point to CHRIST JESUS , the true love of GOD , that gospel and EVERY WORD WRITTEN IN THAT BIBLE .
i suggest all quickly go and do the same . STAND UPON CHRIST and stay planted in that bible
stand on the STONE
or the great river of delusoin shall sweep all away into its current that leads to total destruction at its end .

Paul is talking about judging sin. He says that God judges sin through our consciences and is his judge. This has nothing to do with knowing if we are without sin. If our conscience is clear we have either seared it or we are blameless. We know by the intimacy we have with Christ.

I disagree on this, I think the passage is what I've described.

Our conscience may be clean because we've done nothing wrong, or becasue we are ignoring everything, seared, or, another reason, we currently are ignorant over what constitutes sin in our lives.

I know of myself I've come to realize things in my life were sinful that I hadn't thought so before. Things that were totally off my radar, that now I know are sin. I don't think it's reasonable to assume that now I know all that God considers sinful in my life. I will not be at all surprised to learn in the future things I am OK with today are actually disapproved of by God.

It's in my intimacy with Jesus that we look at such things, talk about them, He's an amazing teacher and leader and friend.

There is no desire for sin, but the temptation is there to 'lean on our own understanding' or to slip back to trusting in the flesh which will lead to sin if we don't quickly get back on track.

I concede on this, you have a good point as I have been experiencing this during my recovery from cPTSD this last few months.

I think that he means alive in the Spirit - Spirit baptized and in Theosis. If indeed they have the Spirit within, then they should be showing the fruit. If the fruit is not there then they have not been baptized. It is a test for them.

I have to again still disagree.

If we live in the Spirit - condition to be met - if you are living in the Spirit, this part is for you. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. The admonition to walk in the Spirit, as thought it were not the automatic result of living in the Spirit, and that you either might or might not walk in the Spirit.

Walking in the Spirit isn't the test of whether one lives in the Spirit, rather, those who are already living in the Spirit are now admonished to walk in the Spirit.
