@mjrhealth
hmmm I beg to differ , though I know what you mean.
When I was still in the church groups ..I never trusted a leader who did not "limp"..had not wrestled with God and be 'touched' in his walk.
Same with the cross...all my mentors were wonderful...and I could "see the cross" in the life and walk.
Others, to me..have no right to be in leadership. They show no "fingerprints" of God upon their lives.
This is how I "judge by their fruit".
I just realized . . . that was like over a year ago!
The atonement was not to only to satisfy God's judgement but to reveal His love.
Jesus is not only our substitute, He is our companion and helper.
He died FOR everyone not only instead of.
He showed us how to die victoriously without fear.
And we all must die, both in body and to the self-will.
Further up and deeper in!!
Faith is indeed the key. Hebrews 11 comes to mind... :)
1 Corinthians 15.57-58 come to mind; if we already have the victory in Him. :)"He showed us how to die victoriously without fear."
Amen my sistah!!
The first thing that I lost when I came to know Him was the fear of physical death. Yeah, I know...so what happens if it's long and lingering suffering kind of death, easy to say when you are not going through the storm. A prayer of mine for myself, is to have the strength and courage to accept whatever might happen, no matter the degree or length of suffering involved; to still serve Him in the midst of it, to have strong faith, and to find the good in it because, "All things work for the good to those who love Him, and are called according to His purpose"

I have often wondered what was going through His mind when He prayed -
".....Take this cup from Me."
I'd 'like' to say all fear is gone...but , when I have a dentist appointment coming up....well....
Can't quite say that I am free of it 100%
Pain is not my friend .lol
