I believe that unless we are willfully ignorant of history, we should all know that Jesus was not merely a man. The question is, is He a God or an angel? Do we accept Him as our Lord or not? is He our God whom we choose to fear and submit too?

When the Holy Spirit gives us a revelation of who Jesus is in 1 Cor 12:3 and Matt 16:16-17, He is revealing Jesus as God and the only God. Our true Saviour. A Christian should not know any other Jesus except Lord Jesus.

Napoleon wrote ''I know men and I tell you, Jesus Christ is no mere man. Between him and every other person in the world there is no possible term of comparison. Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and I have founded empires. But on what did we rest the creations of our genius? Upon force. Jesus Christ founded his empire upon love; and at this hour, millions would die for him.”

“I search in vain history to find similar to Jesus Christ, or anything which can approach the gospel. Neither history nor humanity, nor ages, nor nature, offer me anything with which I am able to compare it or to explain it. Here everything is extraordinary.”

H. G. Wells, British writer, 1866-1946

When asked which person left the most permanent impression on history, he replied that judging a person’s greatness by historical standards:

“By this test, Jesus stands first. I am a historian, I am not a believer, but I must confess as a historian that this penniless preacher from Nazareth is irrevocably the very center of history. Jesus Christ is easily the most dominant figure in all history. Christ is the most unique person of history. No man can write a history of the human race without giving first and foremost place to the penniless teacher of Nazareth.”

I know who the president is, but I don't know him personally. We can split hairs as to the identity of Jesus, His authority, His deity, but His priority and His desire is for a relationship. That is the more significant version of knowing Him, and He knowing us. (John17:3)
1Cor.8:3..."if anyone loves God, this one is also known by Him" Who does Jesus know? The truth is, we do not really know someone until we are in a relationship with them. Otherwise it's just a debate.

It is sad, that even those who think they know him do not. But every knee shall bow to the Word of God that is a Rod of iron unbendable, firm and Rock hard in the end.

Rev 19:13
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
KJV

He is the eternal Word of life that the Father creates all things through and by... The Word became flesh and dwelt among us

I thought it was easiy enough, Christ is the Son of the living God, the messiah, and the king of Kings. What more is there to know?
Everything. His love, obviously. "I give you a new commandment: love others as I have loved you." This usurps "Love your neighbor as yourself," bringing us more fully into the spirit.

Isa 11:8 NIV The infant will play near the cobra’s den, and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest.
