Mystery Babylon is the Mother of the harlots. Meaning she is the origin of this harlot mentality.

Here is a clue I think a lot of people miss when trying to understand this mystery…

Revelation 18:24

Where is the place that ALL the blood of every one that has ever been slain is found?

I agree. People think Mystery Babylon is Jerusalem or Rome and so on, but they are just two of the many harlots of which Mystery Babylon is their mother. The great city Mystery Babylon is the exact spiritual opposite of the holy city, New Jerusalem. The heavenly Jerusalem is our (believers) mother and Mystery Babylon is the mother of ALL harlots (Rev 17:5). All believers are spiritual citizens of the new heavenly Jerusalem (Hebrews 12:22) and all unbelievers are citizens of Mystery Babylon, which is the hold of EVERY foul spirit (Rev 18:2) because they are "of the world" which is what Mystery Babylon represents. We (believers) are not of the world (not citizens of Mystery Babylon).

Galatians 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
