"Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more. What if only ten can be found there?” He answered, “For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it.”

-Genesis 18:32

Here God says He will spare the city of Sodom and Gomorrah if only 10 good people can be found living in the city.

We all know how this story ends.

We who are alive today have an advantage of thousands of years of hindsight. We get to see how this story and narrative has developed thousands of years into the future.

If a similar scenario occurred in 2023 and you had to find 10 good people living in your city to convince God to spare it from doom.

Would there be more good people living in cities today, than there were in past eras of history?

What does everyone think?

Looks can be deceiving - politicians look and sound 'good' when they are canvassing for our votes but then we all know what happens when we give them the power.

What is 'good', how would it be measured today?

I think a modern day city with a population comparable to sodom and gomorra of the biblical era.

Would have greater than 10 residents who would qualify as being righteous.

The number of people in the world who are good is rising over time.

This is the type of basic and fundamental trend christians might observe and track as it defines God's overall purpose and will.

Recognizing the basics, is the path to comprehending the more advanced aspects to God's plan.

Hello,

Of course there are the few out there who believe from the heart, that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead, and because of this they are children of God.

I do not really watch much of the news or anything, or keep up with what is going on the world most of the time; many consider that to be dull; but hey it is whatever. The good thing to do though in a persons life to become wise, and grow in the truth of what is written in the Bible; of course do know that most of the contents and context deals with the Nation of Israel up until the death, burial and resurrection and accession of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who was the Word of God; made flesh and dwelt among them as Immanuel, and the Son of Man, and the Son of God. After this, many of the Gentile nations are now allowed to come and join becoming part of the Kingdom of as Children of God through believing in the name of Jesus (John 1:12), and also those whom walk by the spirit, and grow can become Sons and daughters of God, as you continue to grow in fortifying ones faith with reading and prayer and study and memorize and meditate which could be a benefit to you and your own individual relationship with God, through Christ because of the cross, which the Lord Jesus Christ paid for the sin of the world so that all may now have access to the Father of lights.

May the God of Peace be with you, and all.

But for God's mercy... yet God has allowed us so much time and/or opportunity to stop it all. It is up to us, isn't it? Of course He will help us, but are we, all of us, asking for His help?
