This is another false teaching. We believe that to have wealth is evil. If it is evil then why do we keep seeking to make more of it behind God's back? We ask for raises, seek better paying positions, we change jobs because the money is better. Man goes to college to become a professional in something to get a career to earn money.

The Bible says that God owns all of the gold and silver in the earth, so does that make God evil?
It also says the streets are paved with gold in heaven. In my Bible, it tells me that the kingdom of heaven is Within me. The Bible also says that God made Solomon RICH, Abraham RICH, now I ask you... if God means that money is evil then why would He give it to them?

Isn't it more likely that the LOVE..... of the money that causes man to lie, cheat, steal, kill, covet, and hoard for themselves is the Real culpret here?
My Bible has soooo many scriptures that speak of the wealth and prosperity of those who seek God with all their heart that I do not believe all of these men or churches that preach the follower of Christ must be Poor. Jesus came to the poor, not to keep them that way but to teach them a better way of life. To reveal the Father to them through His Word. To raise us up as son's to the KING. Do you know of any kings who have poverty stricken children?
Jesus was rich, yet he became poor for oursakes... do you understand why? Because our Father is not like the world who looks for a fast buck and will sacrafice their self to do the devils bidding to gain it showing unfaithfulness to Christ/The Word of God. He wants to raise us up in integrity, honesty, of quality and worth being good to our word so that He can bless us with true wealth that comes from within first, so that as a good tree it will manifest good things on the outside as well meaning provisions from our Father, not the world who teaches that to get rich you must be dog eat dog which is a clear mark of the beast.

To be led of your flesh is to satisfy yourself not giving a care about who you destroy, hurt or what God thinks of it.
To be led of the Spirit is to not worry about SELF satisfaction but to be unwilling to do anything that opposes God's Word which causes harm to other's and disloyalty to God to gain things in life. Illgotten gains are worthless because the spirit of that man is headed for destruction. It is not the money that is the issue, it is the hold that the soul has given over to the money that is.

God is a blesser and rewards VERY well with everything we can think of in life. But you won't get nothing from the Lord until your heart is right because money can ruin a soul if they have not been brought up on a firm foundation of God's Word to learn that money is not a god, But God is God and all things which you can ever imagine are in His power to give to who so ever shows true love to the Son. For if you have His Word planted firmly in your heart, you have the Father as well and all things are yours. For in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word WAS God, for God and His Word are one and He never changes. We have been brought into the commonwealth of Israel and just as God blessed them for obedience, so does He us.. yet our covenant is even better because we have the Spirit to help us do what is right in the sight of God so that we can live in even greater blessing for we are the Blessed Seed of Abraham in Christ Jesus!

You say you have faith prove it by your works... not physical works.... but stepping out on the promises of God to show that you walk by Faith(without seeing it first) and not by sight(only what you can see with your natural eyes) for faith without works to back it up is dead faith. God says take no thought... then by Faith step out on that promise to show your trust in His Word. He says to seek ye first His kingdom and His way of doing things.... so Do it, step out on that promise of God and begin to walk in the NEWNESS of life taking God at His Word doubting nothing that has proceeded from the mouth of God for it is truer than the news you heard this morning, it is truer than anything you can see with your eyes. In fact the spiritual world is more real than the natural things we can see. Believe God and take Him at His Word.. do not seek wealth for yourself, let God bring that to pass for your obedience to remain faithful to His Christ no matter what it seems you must give up.. for it will return to you multiplied if you just don't let money rule you. Seek to do the will of God, His Word is His will for us to live by and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.....
Matt 6:30-34
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
KJV

We should never fall into a trap of thinking we should love God so that we can gain things, we can not fool God, He knows the heart of all men. He is interested in your internal wealth above all first and foremost and so should we be, for without internal wealth, you will never have true riches.

God says:
Mal 3:6
6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
KJV
God says He never changes, provision for obedience to harken unto His Son that was for those of the past and is for God's people today.
If wealth was a sin then God would not have these promises and understandings in His Word about giving wealth and receiving wealth.
The only wealth that is evil is ill-gotten gains through lying, cheating, stealing, covetousness, killing being unfaithful to Christ/The Word which is spiritual fornication due to idolatry(the Love of it more that the Word) which is bowing down to the bidding of the devil in his image of the beast, dog eat dog to gain in this life...outside of God's provision. Or greed which is still idolatry but also shows lack of Faith, for it shows you have put your trust in riches and you think that by hoarding you will never be in lack by hoarding up ill gotten treasures for ones own self and not helping the poor brethren whom are you own body and are the body of Christ, a nation of people born of our mother heavenly Jerusalem that must function as a unit of Peace and Prosperity.
Let me tell you, God can wipe out your bank account in an instant or He can pure wealth into your hands. So your wealth can not save you. You best put your FAITH in God and start believing HIM to be your source. I don't mean a lucky charm... I mean seeking to do things His way and let Him worry about your physical needs for He giveth and He can taketh away.. your hand has absolutely nothing to do with it... but your Right Heart Attitude does. Your choice. God says He lays before us life or death... and He hope you choose Life!

Debt is a sin for God's people for we are slaves to the lender and if that lender is an ungodly person.. then what? We are to grow up in God's Word in integrity, good character workers for God's kingdom and look to God to bring all good things into our life. That is the power of God to be able to search hearts and bring givers to His people. We are not to supply the ungodly... they are supposed to give to us for their spiritual gifts that we bring to their ears which is FAR greater than physical things in comparison. For a god fearing person has God on their side to make a way were there is no way!

Foolish fools! (A quote from abridged Marik). The reason the streets of Heaven are paved with gold is because that is all it will be good for in Heaven. It will be as common as stones! Gold will be of no value to us because we will have eternal life with God! Of what possible worth will gold be to a person who has no need for it? Think for a moment why don't you!

Some people including Christians find more security or comfort in money than true riches

Eccl 7:12

1984 NIV
Wisdom is a shelter as money is a shelter,
but the advantage of knowledge is this:
That wisdom preserves the life of its possessor

Being rich does not make someone better or worse, but the poor have it the easiest with God. The more power or wealth a person has, the more responsibility they have with the works of the Lord. Not sparing a coin as a rich man is not the same as not sparing a coin as a poor man.

But the main thing that bothers me is how some people think they are blessed because they have fountains of wealth. As if God finds them more blessworthy then starving children in 3rd world countries.
You are blessed in that you have life, don't go pushing some idea that you are in the ranks of Abraham or Job.

Being wealthy is not a sin, but loving your wealth more than God is a sin. It is the love of money that is a sin. Christ said that one cannot serve both God and mammon (money).

OK, while I believe the premise of having wealth is not bad, and indeed Yahweh gave Israel the birthright (which included becoming many prosperous nations before the time of the end), I think we should get some basic symbolism here correct as to maybe why the streets are paved with gold?

Gold = divinity
Streets = one's path

Add one and one, and a person is left with walking in the way of divinity, Yahweh's Law. No corruption or any other way.

It would pay to do a study on the materials, mathematical measurements and colors of the Tabernacle of the wilderness rich with spiritual symbolism. We need more mathematicians/theologians like Sir Isaac Newton instead of a fad and insightless "Purpose Driven Life" mentality going around these days to study the depths of the scriptures.
