The Mark of the Beast will be implemented and the whole world will follow after the Beast in its work or setting its mark, in a world wide law. The Bible declares that before the coming of the Lord, Satan will work "with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness;" and they that "received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved," will be left to receive "strong delusion, that they should believe a lie."

2 Thessalonians 2:9-11
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

In the issue of the Mark of the Beast the world will be divided into two great classes, those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, and those who worship the beast and his image and receive his mark. We know that the apostate church and the power of the state will unite in power to compel "all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond" , to receive "the mark of the beast," yet the people of God will not receive it.

Revelation 13:11-16
11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

As the seal of God, the Sabbath has become the special point of controversy throughout Christendom, and religious and secular authorities have combined to enforce the observance of the Sunday, the Mark of the Beast. But the refusal of a small minority, a remnant, to yield to the popular demand will come to a head. It will be urged that the few who stand in opposition to this day of the apostate church and a law of the state ought not to be tolerated; that it is better for them to be taken out than for all the nations to be thrown into confusion and their interpretation of the rule of law be ignored. The same argument was brought against Christ by the "rulers of the people." "It is expedient for us," said Caiaphas, "that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not."

John 11:49-50
49 And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,
50 Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.

So how do church and state unite to bring this world wide law of Sunday keeping, well, its already in the works. The UN is pushing it as well as the apostate church and the “new” commandments could include a worldwide day of rest….as in, a Sabbath, yet it would be on another day.

The Pope is at the center of this idea and his Laudato Si Treaty is at the center of this movement, with the world governments being brought together in agreement. In October 2021, Pope Francis and other religious leaders made a joint appeal for leaders of COP 26 to take concrete steps to save the planet from a climate crisis. These steps support the Paris Agreements and Agenda 2030, whose goals are to reduce carbon emissions at any cost. They went forward with the advocation of the creation of a Green Sabbath, where each person is required to “give the environment a break one day a week”, and Climate Sundays where they preach the religion of climate change.

Here is what they want to do..
"One day a week, minimize the need for more goods, minimize the use of natural resources, minimize the emission of carbon dioxide and other pollutants.

The Sabbath is said to be a foretaste of the world to come (Babylonian Talmud, Berakhot 57b). Literally. If you care about our future, about your well-being, observe a real sabbath day of rest. It helps cultivate community, self-discipline, inner calm and contentment. One powerful weapon in the fight against environmental deterioration and climate disaster may just be an age-old spiritual technology"

Green Sabbath Project

The Green Sabbath Project believes that our sabbath days must become a time of active avoidance of environmental vandalism, a time for programmatic congregational and individual reflection on how we are undoing creation. Our main focus is education and advocacy. We feature readings, crowd-sourced li

And we see the power behind it..
"In January 2024, a Washington Post article in the climate section, titled “Why Reviving a 2,600-Year-Old Spiritual Practice Made My Life Better,” pointed to Pope Francis’ argument about “Sunday in his 2015 ‘Laudato Si,’ an encyclical about caring for the natural world. Not resting is not just bad for the soul, he says, but it’s also bad for the Earth. The constant drive to produce and consume more is squandering natural resources, and it prevents us from treating the living world, and one another, with dignity and respect. The Sabbath forces us to consider how we spend all our days.

A Green Sabbath—or God’s Sabbath?

Some propose a weekly rest day to help heal the earth. This sounds noble, but could it end up being just another counterfeit for God’s seventh-day Sabbath?

“Sunday, like the Jewish Sabbath, is meant to be a day which heals our relationships with God, with ourselves, with others and with the world.”

Pope Francis was expanding on the Catholic teaching that Sunday is sacred, trying to give it new meaning for a modern audience in a secular age."

This will be difficult as Christians worship on a Sunday, Jews and SDA's worship on a Saturday, Islam has Friday afternoon prayers, but also set times for daily prayers 5 times a day.
Hindus have a different day of the week for different gods.
So someone is going to be upset no matter what day is chosen.

This is based upon EGW's false prophecies in her book The Great Controversy and not based upon the Bible. The major Last Days controversy will not be the Sabbath question.

Have you read her writings, as we see when God leads much is unveiled. We will see the Holy Spirit poured out now at the end, and young and old, women and men, give God's truth, so need to have spiritual eyes and ears to see and hear what is being given..

Greetings again Hobie,
Have you read her writings, as we see when God leads much is unveiled.
I was referring to your claim as per title of this thread that there will be "The Implementation of the World Wide Sunday Law", but in the process you were quoting or alluding to what EGW states in her book "The Great Controversy". I received a copy of this book when I answered a full page advertisement by the local SDAs concerning the impending National Sunday Law. I also received a small booklet called "National Sunday Law" by A. Jan Marcussen.

The subject that you are referring to is given in EGWs book The Great Controversy. Chapter 36 is possibly the start, called "The Impending Conflict" and is from pages 372 to 378. Then there is Chapter 37 and this is called "The Scriptures a Safeguard" and is from pages 379 to 384. Then Chapter 38 "The Final Warning" pages 385 to 390. Then Chapter 39 "The Time of Trouble", pages 391-to 404.

The scene that you depict about the latter day persecution of the SDAs is stated in the third paragraph on page 392, though it is more or less the theme of all the chapters that I mentioned. For example it says "a decree will finally be issued against those who hallow the Sabbath of the fourth commandment, denouncing them as deserving of the severest punishment and giving the people liberty, after a certain time, to put them to death."

Kind regards
Trevor

Only two groups will buy that.
Hindus because they worship everything and everything is a God and new age pagans, in which I group liberal not bible believing Christians.

The rest believe there version of God dictated when they were to worship and are not changing.

Thank You Trevor for the kind response.
You said that this idea was based on the book The Great Controversy, so I asked if you had read it as I was curious, as the National Sunday Law is not really from that book, but from her many writings. If you look you will find that they did try to implement the National Sunday Law back in the 1890's, but it was rebuffed after hearings US Senate. So it did get close to being implemented, and as you can see it is again being pushed, so we shall see how it all comes out.
God Bless

Greetings again Hobie,
You said that this idea was based on the book The Great Controversy, so I asked if you had read it as I was curious, as the National Sunday Law is not really from that book, but from her many writings.
I read Chapters 36-39 which speak about the introduction of a National Sunday Sabbath Law. The booklet is a separate item, written much more recently but has a similar or same concept, but again not directly from the Bible. So both this booklet and this current thread is based on EGW's writings and this must necessitate that you and the booklet's author accept that EGW is a true prophet, inspired by God. I could be wrong, but it could be mandatory that a SDA must accept EGW as a true Prophet (at baptism or later fellowship?)

I find her writings rather wordy, and a bit all over the place, and not like any of the Bible Spirit-inspired Prophets. My assessment that her claim that the SDAs will become a persecuted minority as a result of the introduction of a National Sunday Sabbath Law rather difficult to accept as feasible, especially these days of sport and atheism, and is not directly based upon the Bible. Also do you think that some nations like China will suddenly become religious and introduce a Sunday Law? In other words I consider that EGW is a false prophet.

Kind regards
Trevor

If it is presented as a green option to reduce the carbon footprint and for a rest day for workers, every country can implement it especially if it has the backing of the Pope and the Billion Catholic members, But as I said, allow it to play out, as it was close to being implemented before, and then you can see for yourself how it happens.

Take a look my brother as they declare it, as the Catholic Church claims it has the authority to change the day of worship from Sabbath to Sunday and so dont need to follow scripture and they are clear about it, and the Christian world pretty much follows this change.

We Catholics do not accept the Bible as the only rule of faith. Besides the Bible we have the living Church, the authority of the Church, as a rule to guide us. We say, this Church, instituted by Christ to teach and guide man through life, has the right to change the ceremonial laws of the Old Testament and hence, we accept her change of the Sabbath to Sunday. We frankly say, yes, the Church made this change.” -Peter R. Kraemer- Catholic Church Extension Society (1975), Chicago, Illinois.

Cardinal Gibbons, in Faith of Our Fathers, 92nd ed., p. 89, freely admits, “You may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we [the Catholic Church] never sanctify.”

Again, “The Catholic Church, … by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday” (The Catholic Mirror, official publication of James Cardinal Gibbons, Sept. 23, 1893).

"Perhaps the boldest thing, the most revolutionary change the Church ever did, happened in the first century. The holy day, the Sabbath, was changed from Saturday to Sunday. "The Day of the Lord" (dies Dominica) was chosen, not from any directions noted in the Scriptures, but from the Church's sense of its own power. The day of resurrection, the day of Pentecost, fifty days later, came on the first day of the week. So this would be the new Sabbath. People who think that the Scriptures should be the sole authority, should logically become 7th Day Adventists, and keep Saturday holy."
—Sentinel, Pastor's page, Saint Catherine Catholic Church, Algonac, Michigan, May 21, 1995

The [Roman Catholic] Church changed the observance of the Sabbath to Sunday by right of the divine, infallible authority given to her by her founder, Jesus Christ. The Protestant claiming the Bible to be the only guide of faith, has no warrant for observing Sunday. In this matter the Seventh-day Adventist is the only consistent Protestant.
—The Catholic Universe Bulletin, August 14, 1942, p. 4.

Protestants ... accept Sunday rather than Saturday as the day for public worship after the Catholic Church made the change... But the Protestant mind does not seem to realize that ... in observing Sunday, they are accepting the authority of the spokesman for the Church, the pope.
—Our Sunday Visitor, February 5th, 1950.

The Catholic Church claims that “the church is above the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact” (Catholic Record of London, Ontario Sept 1, 1923).... Who Changed The Sabbath to Sunday? — The Church of God International

“Protestants do not realize that by observing Sunday, they accept the authority of the spokesperson of the Church, the Pope” (Our Sunday Visitor, February 5, 1950).

“Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change [Saturday Sabbath to Sunday] was her act... And the act is a mark of her ecclesiastical authority in religious things” (H.F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons).

And there is more, but you see they consider it their mark of authority, it is the mark of the beast.

Those who love and follow Christ do what, they "keep the Commandments". Now as for Christ as the Sabbath, well Jesus is not a "day" nor is He ever symbolically/metaphorically linked to being a "day" in the Bible; He's linked to being "the vine", "the lamb", "the door", "the rock" and many other things but never, not once, a "day". We must stick to the Bible and the Bible only.

To "rest in Jesus" actually has three meanings; 1) to rest on the Sabbath day Heb 4:4-9 or
2) to be one of the righteous dead 1 Thess. 4:14 for you are literally resting in Jesus' love and protection. Matthew 11:28 - Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Jesus can absolutely give us 3) spiritual rest, but we cannot "cease from all work" seven days a week. We have six days given for work and only one day made at Creation for man, not the Jews, but mankind to cease from work and "shabbat", rest.

The lesson behind the Sabbath was that we should rest from our own works Hebrews 4:10 and put our trust and rest in Christ Matthew 11:28-30 and patiently wait for that day of rest when Jesus will rule over the earth for the 1000 years from Jerusalem Hebrews 4:8-11, Isaiah 2:1-4. Our Sabbath is not one day in the week, but 24/7 and Jesus fulfilled this in perfection, he was the True Sabbath. Jesus replaced the shadow with the substance.

No, Gods Word clearly says to 'Remember' the Sabbath as it was the seventh day of Creation and it was 'made for man' by the Creator, while the other 'six days' it says were for labor. God is clear on this and never did it change, the 'Lords Day' has always been the Sabbath and from the beginning on the seventh day so we take care of the domain He entrusted man with the other six days as its caretaker. It will continue for as long as God exists, which is eternity and those who follow Him will 'Remember'...

And what is the substance, the Roman 'Sol Invictus'. Need to see what history shows, as this worship has an origin..

"Sun worship characterized many of the early religions. In the Old World it was important in ancient cultures, such as those of Babylon, Egypt, Persia, North India, Greece, Rome....
Connected with sun worship, the observance of the first day of the week, the sun-day, played an important role in the pagan world. The North British Review called Sunday "The wild solar holiday of all times," and Constantine, in his famous Sunday edict, styled it "the venerable day of the sun."

Babylonians
Bel, the sun-god, whose proper name was Marduk, was the patrol god of the Babylonians. To him they dedicated the first day of the week. Their calendar was adjusted in such a way that the first day of every month was also the first day of the week.

"It is clear that the first day of every month was originally a day of rest and fasting."--Langdon, Babylonian Menlogies and Semitic Calendars, p. 86.

Egyptians
In ancient Egypt the sun-cult originated at Heliopolis. The early sun-god of the ancient Egyptians was Re, and later Osiris, who came to be also the god of the dead and of the resurrection.

"Sunday (day of the sun) as the name of the first day of the week is derived from Egyptian astrology." --Catholic Encyclopedia, Art. Sunday.

Medo-Persian
"Each day in the week, the planet to which the day was sacred was invoked in a fixed spot in the crypt; and Sunday, over which the sun presided, was especially holy." --Cumont, The Mysteries of Mithra, p. 167.

Indians
Among the Hindus, every Sunday was a holy day. One author writes:

"The different days enjoy degrees of veneration according to certain qualities which [the Hindus] attribute to [the days of the week]. They distinguish, for example, the Sunday, because it is the day of the sun and the beginning of the week." --Albiruni's India, II, p. 185.

Koreans
"Buddha is reported to have been of solar descent, as were the Incas of Peru and are the present royal house of Japan (whose ancestress is stated to have been the sun-goddess Amaterasu)." --E. Royston Pike, Encyclopecia of Religion, Art. Sun Worship.

Germans
"The most ancient Germans being pagans, and having appropriated their first day of the week to the peculiar adoration to the sun, whereof, that day doth yet in our English tongue retain the name of Sunday." --Verstegan, Antiquities, p. 10.

Greeks
"At Sparta on the first day of every month the king made a sacrificial offering to Apollon [or Appollo], the sun-god, and the same practice was carried on at Athens." --Cook, Zeus, II, p. 237.

Romans
"The first day of the week was the Mithraic Sunday before it was the Christian, and December 25 was Mithra's birthday." --E. Royston Pike, Encyclopedia of Religion, Art. Mithraism.

Mithraism and Christianism
The popular worship of Mithra [the "Invincible Sun-god"] became so pre-eminent in the Roman Empire in the days of Constantine, that he decreed "The Venerable Day of the Sun" to be the weekly rest day of the Empire.

One authority points out the influence of Mithraism on Christianity, saying:

"It [Mithraism] had so much acceptance that it was able to impose on the Christian world its own Sun-day in place of the Sabbath, its Sun's birthday, 25th December, as the birthday of Jesus." --G. Murray, Christianity in the Light of Modern Knowledge, pp. 73, 74.

Still another author says: "The early Christians had at first adopted the Jewish seven-day week, with its numbered week days, but by the close of the third century A.D. this began to give way to the planetary week; and in the fourth and fifth centuries the pagan designations became generally accepted in the western half of Christendom.

...During these same centuries the spread of Oriental solar worships, especially that of Mithra, in the Roman world, had already led to the substitution by the pagans of dies Solis (Sun-day) for dies Saturni (Saturday), as the first day of the planetary week...Thus gradually a pagan institution was engrafted on Christianity." --Hutton Webster, Rest Days, pp. 220, 221.

Contrary to popular belief, there is not the slightest indication in the Bible that Sunday observance may have originated with Christ or the apostles." THE ORIGIN OF SUNDAY OBSERVANCE

Our fellowship does not consider Sunday as a Sabbath or a day of worship. For example those in predominantly Moslem countries may hold their weekly memorial on a Friday afternoon, and as Sunday is a working day in Israel, they would hold their meeting on a Saturday. If someone is in hospital we could have a memorial with them during the week. Because of other activities tomorrow, Sunday, one of the eight meetings in our area is conducting their memorial today, Saturday afternoon. Yes, you are holding on to the shadow and not the substance. Jesus is the True Sabbath Matthew 11:25-30, Hebrews chapters 3 and 4.

As I said, Jesus is not a "day" nor is He ever symbolically/metaphorically linked to being a "day" in the Bible, but at Creation we see what He made for man. Jesus made the Sabbath for man at Creation and what were the other six days for, its clear.
Exodus 20:9
Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

And Jesus instructed His disciples to observe the Sabbath even after His death as we see in His declaration.
Matthew 24:20
But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

Jesus and the apostles kept the seventh-day Sabbath and instructed others to do likewise, it was never changed to any other day. Now if you read your Bible you find in Revelation 13, where Satan, represented as the Dragon, empowers the Beast which is the apostate church, to enforce its false worship by placing its mark, on the foreheads and hands of their followers, which is substituted for the seal of God and the true worship of God.

Revelation 13:1-8
1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

So you have to ask yourself what is the false system of worship that the apostate church would bring and what was the true worship it seeked to set aside. It is what Jesus made for man at Creation, to bring him into a special time of communion, a holy and consecrated time, the Sabbath.
