* A Kentucky pack-horse librarian, delivering library books to an isolated home located somewhere in the remote mountains of Eastern Kentucky in the 1930’s. Horses were required because there was no way to reach the homes by automobile. Had I been there and on the receiving end, it would have been a bigger event than Christmas. Had I been there and on the delivering end, it would have been a most satisfying work of good service. This photo makes me happy. *
