It you do the math in each of the above verses, subtracting the ages of each person from 1000 (the spiritual number of forever or a day with God), you get the number of years they were short of forever.

And then...everything with the spirit of life--died.

After which humanity are as dead until born again of the spirit of God made possible by Jesus the Son of God.

though a thousand years has been mentions in the bible there's no implication that it's no more than a thousand years or a thousand trips around the sun.

what you should be looking at is what is actually in the scriptures in relation to this genealogy.

10 generations from Adam to Noah 10 generations from Noah to Abram (Abraham) 1656 years from Adam to the flood 365 years from the first to be born into the new world after the flood to the calling of Abraham. (Shem was an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood: )
Enoch lived 365 yr's and there are 365 days in a trip around the sun. which is significant seeing the earth just suffered a cataclysmic event that may have changed how many days there where in a year (trip around the sun) to 365 days. considering the life span of men was shorting significantly per. generation.

also if my memory serves Adam saw his 6th or 7th first born and Noah saw his tenth first born Abram

1948 year from Adam to the birth of Abram and what is understood as 1948 years after Christ coming into the world to the reestablishment of the Figtree state Israel.

with Adam bread is first mentioned
with Noah wine is first mentioned
with Abraham the bread and the wine is mentioned together for the second time each.

with Adam came condemnation and death into the world of men. of which all the children of Adam receives coming into the world with Noah grace of God can be found of which is posable for all the children of Noah. with Abraham faith in God is establish that all children of Abraham via Isaac and Jacob can receive that same promise.

the ministry of Grace and Faith were established a long time ago. the bread and the wine administered in many churches and the true reasons for it were establish a long time ago.

but scripturally a thousand years is just that, a thousand years.

but scripturally a thousand years is just that, a thousand years.
In the order which you have presented it:

1. But, beloved, you are forgetting that it is mentioned in the bible:

2 Peter 3:8
"But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."

...and, as "yesterday, today, and forever" are "the same" with God, it is spiritually "forever." So, "scripturally" you have a point that is only so good and limited to the times of men. But of the greater things of God, which the scriptures do also include. Thus, Peter has correctly given the terms, which are either right or wrong depending on the terms, whether they pertain to men or to God. It is a matter of rightly dividing the word of truth.

2. Genealogies, then, pertain to the times of men. But what "genealogy" is there in "I am?" None. Again, the original post was to point to the correct context of what is given in the genealogies, as to what pertains to the context of God, and what pertains to that of men. Which the scriptures do in terms of what was lost over their generations. But until now, men have not looked at things except in terms of the world and its times, rather than that of the kingdom of God. It is a matter of renewing your mind.

3. The rest of you notes on genealogy are quite interesting and appreciated -- thank you!

doesn't say "is a thousand" years it says "is as a thousand " the same meaning as "like a thousand". a simple strait forward understanding.

you're saying here that Peter is saying is a thousand, and the truth is Peter says is "as" a thousand.

I quoted Peter, including "as", and that I did not mean to contradict, but to agree and to show to be the truth. "As" a thousands years speaks to the perspective of men who would view a thousand years as "forever." Rightly so.
