I have to agree with the Nihilism comment, I was there sitting in the dark. With a gun in my hand. Lost several--well 3 for sure--nihilist friends that way, I had to change or die obv

That is when I took another step toward God, when I was completely drained and out of valid premises; I knew Death More Abundantly was a lie, but hadn't found Nehushtan yet

You sound more honest than your friends. You took it all the way to its end. They wanted to stop short to keep holding onto it. But you have to play an entire game of chess to see who wins and who makes the fatal mistakes.

Yeah? And.

Really JJ??

You make a pronouncement that in the OT, the people killed false prophets. Its a statement of the sweeping scope. But the sweeping scope of the OT is that the exact opposite happened and they were always killing the true prophets, not the false.

Since I said that, you then say I must be reading the SBG translation, which is to say that I'm skewing it.

Then you admit to reading no translation at all and say, yeah, so?

Can't you examine that and see your absurdities?

Can't you examine yourself and see the kind of Christian you really are.

Um, "like" with reservations lol, I don't claim to no longer be deceived, I'm still a monster I guess, still get ego-flares, etc

Despite the discomfort it caused you to hear that you were more honest than your friends, it is nevertheless the truth. You believed it enough TO take it to its end. They however, left, shaking their heads and saying, oh man, he takes everything too far, he REALLY believes this crap...

Boy, I cannot recommend this path strongly enough. If you are reading an English translation without any other help you are in big trouble imo. If one is lazy, we have Lex, and for more intensive stuff/ppl we have Interlinear, why trust scribes?
And don't forget the holy spirit now, that's the most important piece.

You can't leave home without that, or go home ever if you lose it.

I agree wholeheartedly. If God has taught me one major thing, its this.
Depends if you're a good monster or evil monster. Good monsters do nothing but attack people with their views of goodness, where as the evil monsters attack people who think they're good. It's one whole monster war going on, and I'm not buying into it.

No, your a pretty lousy kind of charity loving believer. Where's the beef, that's what I say.

I'm a lousy believer because you don't think I'm showing you love...? We can't even know what is good or bad according to you. Are you saying love is good or are you saying you don't believe I am showing you love?

You've made a glaring mistake all along. You reject Jesus teachings because men who claim to follow Him are blatant hypocrites.

The point of all His teachings is to NOT be a hypocrite.

I think you rather think that the main thrust of His teaching is to be perfect in all you do. But the main thrust is to be truthful.

When the second man praying went away justified, how do you think that is possible? The man had just admitted the truth that he was a monster (to use your word). How is it that he walked away approved of by God...? And how did the first man NOT walk away with Gods approval?

So is the point to never be a hypocrite?

What exactly will be you in heaven anyway? The dilemma that I face when thinking about people being perfect, in a perfect creation, is that they won't have anything to contrast anything else with.
Ya, I have a better def of "perfect" now, at least imo, that does not involve perfectionism. Mistakes, missing the mark, these are just steps on the way to learning how to not miss the mark imo. What exactly will be me in heaven, hmm, the kingdom of heaven is within, No one has ever gone up to heaven, There is only One Immortal, This mortal must "put on" immortality, You and your sons will be here with me, is my reply there I guess. In English though, my theory right now is that we construct our egos all by ourselves, and it is the ego that must die? Supposedly this is what happens at baptism even, when we go down into the water?

Don't be quizzing most Christians about that ritual though, unless you want a bunch of crickets for a response ok :)
