The Bible Is Not Written To You (or is it?)

Hello @Bob Estey,

How ever you feel about it. I just was curious how you reconcile those things mentioned. How people take the Bible is up to them. I do believe it was written for the benefit of the building up of spiritual faith; though some of the things within it do not apply directly to us.

The Lord is speaking to the Jews in the Old Testament, and Christians don't normally try to follow all the "rules." But I think certain things the Lord said are Commandments and should be obeyed.

So....There is Paul's Theology, and if you dont build your Theology as He teaches..... then a cult will get you., and the bible will be to you..

= Its True... and 2000 yrs later, Paul's Scriptures are what we have to learn., or we will become trapped inside a Cult Theology.......like those i named., and there are so many more just waiting...

Paul's Gospel was already up and running before He met Timothy, and before he wrote those 2 Epistles.
In fact He told Timothy to be careful of the "" Doctrine""".......and that would have been Paul's.
2nd Timothy is Paul's final letter to the Church. before Paul was martyr'd for His Faith. (Beheaded).

Timothy was one of Paul's converts.. (a gentile). .He knew this young man's family.. they were a family of believers..
Timothy and Titus were "called" under Paul's preaching....... and they became very important to Paul's ministry, as was DEMAS, but He left Paul and went back "into the world".......tho, still born again........He was just one of those people who just didnt hang in there.
The NT does not tell us if Demas came back later on, or whaevever happened to Him.. after He left Paul's ministry.
What we know is that God never left Demas as Jesus will never forsake us.. or leave us.

MatthewG....Some things are obvious that are not taught very much...
For example.. lets say a Christian wanted to learn some bible.....
Well, read 1-2 Timothy and Titus, as that is about as direct as its going to get, from Paul.
= Good place to start, along with Romans and Colossians and Ephesians

Sometimes i have to smile when i hear people tell young believers.......>>"well, you should read JOHN">... the Gospel.

And that is not the answer.
The answer is...>>>> You are now born again and God needs you to learn a lot, and not take a long time to do it.
So, you go to PAUL......He is your teacher, He wrote the doctrine for the Church.... so dont waste time in Matt or Hebrews or James..or The Revelation.
If the young believer wants to know as much as possible in a month, then find a Pauline Theology Teacher, and "problem solved".
So, Get those other epistles... later, after you have "worked out your salvation" by understanding Paul's basic Doctrine, or you'll be 40 yrs older and still not really understand the NT, and by then, a cult will own your mind by then..........Hebrews 13:9

read it all . but you are correct when you say GOD wants us to learn the bible .

So, how do we find the "doctrine", for the "church".​

= Paul.​

And He says to do this.....>>>>"study", and "rightly divide".​

What happens if you "wrongly divided" the word?.....​

What happens, in other words, if you can't learn what part is for whom, and when ?​

Then you get 45,000 denominations, worldwide.​

You get Calvinism​

You get Catholicism​

You get Mormonism​

You get Preterism​

You get a lot of "ISMs"​

You get JW's.​

You get confused, you get deceived.​

How to stop that confusion, deception?​

Learn Paul's Theology., and never accept anything else, and if your "teacher" or "commentary" or "online site", does not tell you what i just told you, then get rid of it.​

Give some examples of what does not apply to us . If you speak of ceremonial days , meats and drinks , OKIE DOKEY
but if you try and overlook sins , BAD .
IF ya try and preach an offshoot of univeraslism or tone down the lake of fire . BAD .
Give us some examples of what no longer applies to us . A HINT , its the ceremonial sacrifcies
and etc for sin THAT DONT . JESUS DONE COVERED ALL THAT WITH HIS BLOOD .
but if you dare , i mean even dare to try and reconcile ONE SIN , YOU GETTING REBUKED .

Jesus says scripture (he must have been referring to the Old Testament, as the New Testament didn't yet exist) can't be broken (John 10:35).

If, in the Old Testament, God says something is an abomination (such as in Leviticus 18:22), wouldn't it still be an abomination ?

When asked how to have eternal life, Jesus said, "You know the commandments," and he listed several of the Ten Commandments from the Old Testament (Luke 18:20, Mark 10:19).

I wouldn't dismiss the Old Testament.

meats , drinks , days , sacrfices for sin by blood of animals . THAT NO Longer applies to us .
But if any man dares to try and reconcile sin , THEY GETTING REBUKED .
example . if a man tries to say HEY we aint under the law , ITS OKAY NOW to be gay , THAT MAN better fear
