Really??
The difference is that I don't LIE about other churches.
In fact - if you can show me ONE post on this forum where I lied about ANY Protestant denomination - I will apologize and leave the forum.

Happy hunting . . .

I don't know what to tell you on that, if that is the case...no idea, except that I believe that the enemy has infiltrated into many seminaries and that there are, yes, people who DO listen to the wrong voice.

I do seem to experience them often in these times we are in. I am not the Salt and Light near as much as I should be,
but yesterday, I ran into someone with a bad potty mouth who admitted he has done a lot of bad things in his life. I asked him if he asked God for forgiveness. He said he did. Then I asked if he accepted Jesus as his personal Savior...he sneered and said no...and I witnessed some, tried to... but it was like he had a hook in his jaw. I won't expound here.
Don't want to potentially derail this thread.
I know that God deals with all of His flock differently, but the enemy has done what he can to infiltrate, destroy, and splinter the church, and I firmly so much division is his handiwork...which God has allowed for some reason(s)...His ways are higher then ours.
That's what I thought. Somebody got to you.

God didn't teach you what is in bold RED above. A Protestant taught that to you because this standard Protestant line is NOT found anywhere in Scripture. This and the fact that you don't see anything wrong with Jack Chick's tracts is textbook evidence that you were led away from the Church. It wasn't some "epiphany" that you received on your own.

It's fine if you want to be a Protestant - just don't be dishonest about it.

Just about every single thing he ever wrote about the Catholic Church is 100% false.
Among MANY other lies - he wrote that the Catholic Church was responsible for:
The Civil War
The Russian Revolution
The Kennedy Assassination

His "Alberto" series is one of the most comically-dishonest publications ever printed. Albert Rivera was NOT a former Jesuit priest - but a con artist and criminal who escaped from Spain because he was being chased by the authorities for a number of fraudulent and counterfeit activities.

Regardless of whether you disagree with or even dislike the Catholic Church - LYING about it is NOT acceptable to God.
Alberto was always holier than you
I have never heard you give glory to anyone but yourself

We’ve played the ‘I never lie - prove it! - that’s not a lie!’ game too many times, BOL. I’d rather read the same bedtime story to my neice 10,000 times in a row - she is much cuter

I think the only game Ive been sucked in to more often is Stranger’s ‘Now answer my question! - when are you going to answer my [already answered, black and white] question?! - you are a coward for not answering my question’ game.

Then why make the asinine comparisons between me and Chick?

Well, I apologize, I am sorry, but I feel that he was appointed to tell the truth, commissioned by our Creator to give historically accurate details to those wanting the Truth, about many topics. I have been able to read a lot of his work, and it is a Blessing and very Anointed.

I did not read about the topics you mention, but thanks for letting me know! I am one to research this type of stuff...fascinating, really.

What I have read that he exposes about the catholic church seems very true.

Which reminds me, on a related note: I don't know if he write about the connection the Vatican had with Hitler and the Nazis, but there are many pictures of the pope, cardinals, etc. with hitler and his comrades. You think that they were playing tiddly-winks?

According to the Protestant publication Cornerstone Magazine . . .

Rivera had a 'history of legal entanglements' including fraud, credit card theft, and writing bad checks. Warrants had been issued for his arrest in New Jersey and Florida, and he was wanted by the Spanish police for 'swindles and cheats'. While in the U.S. in 1967, he claimed to be collecting money for a Spanish college, which never received this money. The details of his religious claims changed over time. For example, in 1964 he claimed that he had left the Catholic Church in July 1952. Rivera later put the date at March 20, 1967 - an almost 15 year discrepancy. Despite this second claim of conversion from Catholicism in March 1967, Rivera was still promoting Catholicism in a newspaper interview of August that same year. Although supposedly placed involuntarily in the sanatorium where he claimed to have nearly been murdered in 1965 and held there for three months, he gave the date of his release as September 1967. This leaves a period of more than a year unaccounted for in Rivera's narrative.

The document exhibited by Rivera to prove his status as a Catholic priest was fraudulent. The Catholic Church denies his claim of having been a Jesuit priest, or another claim that he was a bishop. He had only one sister in London. She was not a nun, and she did not live in a convent, so the claim that his sister the nun nearly died in a convent in London was problematic. In an employment form dated 1963, Rivera stated he was married to Carmen Lydia Torres, and the couple had two children in the U.S. In his narrative, Rivera claimed that he was a priest living in Spain in 1963.

Cornerstone also questioned Rivera's claim to various degrees, including three doctorates (Th.D., D.D., and Ph.D.), reporting that his known chronology did not allow enough time to have completed these degrees. Rivera allegedly admitted that he had received these degrees from a non accredited entity sometimes referred to as a diploma mill located in the state of Colorado.

If that's "holy" - then he certainly WAS much "holier" than me . . .

I researched Alberto, several sources state that he was a Jesuit at one time.

Jesuits ARE corrupt.

And I'll bet that you don't have a clue about the fact that it was the Catholic Church, specifically, Pope Pius XII who rescued more Jews from the Nazi death camps that ANYBODY else - including Oskar Schindler - but you'll never see a major motion picture about it.

Whenever you're ready to star a thread about Hitler and the Catholic Church - I have MOUNTAINS of evidence that destroys all of the lies about it. MOST of this garbage was started by Rolf Hochhuth's 1963 play, "The Deputy."

According to WHOM??
Jack Chick??

Rivera's exploits are a matter of public record and he was NEVER a priest.
I'll say this for you - you certainly are gullible . . .

No, well, possibly...but I have come across other sources that talk about that.

Look - I don't want to get into an argument here. Just do your homework about people like Jack Chick and Alberto Rivera before you go believing what they say.

That's funny. You call ME "mean" - yet you're perfectly fine with people like Jack Chick and Albert Rivera spreading all sorts of lies and filth about the Church - which are easily debunked.
You don't think that's "mean"??

I was under the impression that you like to argue.

Where oh where is that post where someone evidently claimed I must be protestant...uh, no I have never been inside a protestant church, never felt led to do so, I guess...do not know much about their doctrine.
