I’ll sin to the very day I die; because that is what kills the body, sin. Infection, eventually the body gives in and dies,
Matthew you do not understand where sin comes from in us. It comes from our nature. Our nature has been born again, not our body. The body in itself cannot sin, that is why it is not involved with the taking away of our sin at the source, our nature. It is merely a puppet doing the will of our nature. The source is our nature. It was a sin nature, but after being born again is a divine nature. I've shown you the scriptures on that and I hope you took note.

We are a triune being made in the image of God who also is a triune being. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Not three persons, but three substances of one God. That is clear in scripture whether people can see that or are blind to it. We are spirit, soul and body. One person. Our spirit and soul/mind plus our conscience and emotions together make up our nature. We have the mind of Christ, also called the Spirit of Christ Romans 8:9. They are our old man (sin nature) and been reborn. The body is separate because in taking away our sin, our body was NOT involved. What you learned is a common teaching in liberal parts of the church. Be smarter than them. If you are born again of the Spirit, which is the only way we are saved, you are dead to sin and must NOT reckon yourself a SINNER. Romans 6:6-16. You are quoting a doctrine of demons that says the opposite of Scripture and especially what Jesus accomplished. If you are NOT born again then you are a sinner and must truly repent to be given the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew you do not understand where sin comes from in us.
How do you know I don’t know where sin comes from?

It comes from our nature. Our nature has been born again, not our body.

Our nature to by our soul through our flesh enjoy the proclivities such as the following.

“For you, my brothers, were called to freedom; only do not let your freedom become an opportunity for the sinful nature (worldliness, selfishness), but through love serve and seek the best for one another. For the whole Law [concerning human relationships] is fulfilled in one precept, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself [that is, you shall have an unselfish concern for others and do things for their benefit].” But if you bite and devour one another [in bickering and strife], watch out that you [along with your entire fellowship] are not consumed by one another. But I say, walk habitually in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be responsive to His guidance], and then you will certainly not carry out the desire of the sinful nature [which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts]. For the sinful nature has its desire which is opposed to the Spirit, and the [desire of the] Spirit opposes the sinful nature; for these [two, the sinful nature and the Spirit] are in direct opposition to each other [continually in conflict], so that you [as believers] do not [always] do whatever [good things] you want to do. But if you are guided and led by the Spirit, you are not subject to the Law. Now the practices of the sinful nature are clearly evident: they are sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality (total irresponsibility, lack of self-control), idolatry, sorcery, hostility, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions [that promote heresies], envy, drunkenness, riotous behavior, and other things like these. I warn you beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬-‭21‬ ‭AMP‬‬

. The body in itself cannot sin, that is why it is not involved with the taking away of our sin at the source, our nature.

It’s through by the soul; which the flesh indulges in sin. That is how I see it. It was Adam who thought, “okay I’ll take and eat, eve”, without going to consult with God first.

Jesus body, took on sin, so I don’t know what you are talking about.

It is merely a puppet doing the will of our nature. The source is our nature. It was a sin nature, but after being born again is a divine nature. I've shown you the scriptures on that and I hope you took note.

That sounds like nonsense to me, but you may believe how you will, and I’ll respect you.

None of this triune stuff is needed.

You are a soul, living in a body made of flesh and bones, and your soul is your (mind/will/emotion) and through your soul, you move the body of flesh, that has your soul within it; which is released upon death.

Idk when the last time anyone has read this

9Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. 10But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower. 11For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.

12Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

13When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. 15Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

16Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. 17Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 18He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.

Buts it’s important information.

14but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. 15Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

Who is the person who had a evil desire?

It was us by our soul; which interactively controlled the actions of the flesh.

When a person wants to start having negative thoughts and feeds them, in their mind, heart, soul, will manifest dark thoughts that might lead to harmful actions of another. Therefore it can cause harm also to one’s own self if they are not careful.

Sin though it has been paid for by the death of Christ, still in a since had to be filled up to the brim in us to make us pass away is a way I look at it. Yes unfortunately bad circumstances comes around and about for all people, but in the end God is a good God.

So the evil doesn’t come from the devil tempting us; it’s our own desires. Which makes us all have no excuses in the aspect of not being tainted in a body of sin; while having a soul that is having the mind on heavenly things awaiting resurrection having a life loving God and loving others.

What is our spirit?

If sin is in our body, why didn't Jesus take away sin from our body when making us born again?

Because Jesus suffered the same temptations we did, before he even died on the cross, @1stCenturyLady and we suffer in the same way, between the earth and heavenly.

Sin has been taken care of, it’s a choice if a person becomes dead to sin and live for the heavenly while mortifying the earthly.

To stay in faith walking in faith by the spirit, asking God to help, and guide you, and allow Christ through you to manifest by the spirit of Christ that is in the believer.

Hebrews 2:18 Asks God For Help With Temptation

So when we pray, we are praying to the God who is familiar with the temptations we face, and not only familiar with the temptations we face, but who has conquered those temptations, who lived a perfect life.

Sanctification is a real thing, as a person lets God guide in their life more than the flesh going by the spirit to love God and love others? While dying to their old ways and life burying it in the ground and being raised to new spiritual life in Christ whom was raised by God.

But it doesn’t means they won’t befall the temptations of sin, by the spiritual forces in the world that lead to darkness.

You will never become sinless and perfect in this life. You are clothed in His righteousness. You are still a sinner.
I think something is getting lost in the heat of this argument......the scriptures themselves tell us that sin comes in degrees, which was indicated in God's Law to Israel....the punishment was determined by the severity of the crime. No one was punished for a bad thought or an envious eye....crimes under God's law that merited punishment were actions provoked by thoughts that were not dismissed by the one who had the ability to do so.
James 1:13-15....
"When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried, nor does he himself try anyone. 14 But each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. 15 Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin; in turn sin, when it has been carried out, brings forth death."

So the desire is where sin originates and because we have control over our thought processes, sin (actions) can also be controlled. We sin in small ways every day but God encourages us to self-discipline in those areas.....to dismiss those thoughts before they become a sinful actions.

Its the serious sins over which we have control...the ones that would, under God's law have imposed penalties.....so to God those kinds of sins still will, if we continue to commit them unrepentantly, using Christ's sin atoning sacrifice as an excuse to keep sinning. It doesn't work like that. Repentance has to be genuine, and it has to be accompanied by a concerted effort NOT to repeat it.

I don't understand why you think we can't become perfect in this life. All we have to do is obey a few commandments. I'm not saying they are easy to obey, but why do you think it's impossible?

Anyone who brags they will sin until the day they die is trusting in the author of sin, the devil, and not who takes sin away, Jesus.

Because you 'agreed' to this false belief of the devil.

"You will never become sinless and perfect in this life. You are clothed in His righteousness. You are still a sinner."

What?

8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Don't play ignorant. It is plain as day.

The key word in verse 8 is SAY.

See how John uses the word in chapter two. Don't believe that God doesn't do what He says. When he cleanses us of all sin after we confess our sins, how much sin is left?

4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

9 He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now.

CHAPTER ONE: can you understand now???

6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

[8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness

“and thanks to God, that ye were servants of the sin, and — were obedient from the heart to the form of teaching to which ye were delivered up; and having been freed from the sin, ye became servants to the righteousness. In the manner of men I speak, because of the weakness of your flesh, for even as ye did present your members servants to the uncleanness and to the lawlessness — to the lawlessness, so now present your members servants to the righteousness — to sanctification, for when ye were servants of the sin, ye were free from the righteousness, what fruit, therefore, were ye having then, in the things of which ye are now ashamed? for the end of those [is] death. And now, having been freed from the sin, and having become servants to God, ye have your fruit — to sanctification, and the end life age-during; for the wages of the sin [is] death, and the gift of God [is] life age-during in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭17‬-‭23‬ ‭YLT98‬‬

“Let no one say, being tempted — ‘From God I am tempted,’ for God is not tempted of evil, and Himself doth tempt no one, and each one is tempted, by his own desires being led away and enticed, afterward the desire having conceived, doth give birth to sin, and the sin having been perfected, doth bring forth death. Be not led astray, my brethren beloved; every good giving, and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the lights, with whom is no variation, or shadow of turning; having counselled, He did beget us with a word of truth, for our being a certain firstfruit of His creatures. So then, my brethren beloved, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger, for the wrath of a man the righteousness of God doth not work; wherefore having put aside all filthiness and superabundance of evil, in meekness be receiving the engrafted word, that is able to save your souls; and become ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves, because, if any one is a hearer of the word and not a doer, this one hath been like to a man viewing his natural face in a mirror, for he did view himself, and hath gone away, and immediately he did forget of what kind he was; and he who did look into the perfect law — that of liberty, and did continue there, this one — not a forgetful hearer becoming, but a doer of work — this one shall be happy in his doing. If any one doth think to be religious among you, not bridling his tongue, but deceiving his heart, of this one vain [is] the religion; religion pure and undefiled with the God and Father is this, to look after orphans and widows in their tribulation — unspotted to keep himself from the world.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭13‬-‭27‬ ‭YLT98‬‬

I am okay with saying a sinner saved by grace being adopted by God through Christ in newness of life spiritually,

But my flesh still has a desire to sin.

We all must work out our own salvation. If you want to SAY you have newness of life while behaving as a sinner, you'll find out the hard way.

John is talking about the difference between WALKING THE WALK, and TALKING THE TALK - but lying like you are. You are NOT walking in newness of life if your desire is to sin. You are admitting you still have your old sin nature. That means you still need to be born again.

But the man who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.

The meth head tweaker who lived a selfish life but invovled God in to his life by faith; is better off than some self religious person who should be mature and nurture others in the faith.

Sharing the bible and hearing the word is what changes people into having more faith, but one has to be realistic.

We are to obey our conscience where God writes His laws. It is easy not to sin when you don't have any desire to. But if your conscience is still dead you will have a desire to sin.

Call me names. I don't care. I will still teach you the truth whether you take the advice or not. It is for your own good if you would listen once in a while. You are taking up the bad habits of the haters on the forums. I've got a thick skin.
