My take is that we will all receive from Him according our works, good or bad. Only the Father knows the day and hour of this final judgement. It also say's to me that death and hell are already in the lake of fire before the judgement.

we see what it means .
Look down a bit farther after HE says we will all receive
He says KNOWING the THERFORE the TERROR of GOD we persaude men .
Persaude men .
TO what . TO BELIEVE ON JESUS THE CHRIST .
you see there is a great and mighty day a coming wherein ALL shall be judged .
As a sheep or as a goat . and believe me aint no one gonna want to have been a goat on that day .

Revelation 22:12 What Does It Mean?

Preface…Revelations is a recap AND future addressing EVERY created and made … angel being (celestial) AND human being (terrestrial) regarding their eternal consequence.

Rev 22:
[12] And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Behold….ie Look, See, Comprehend.
I come quickly…Delay, Waiting, Ceases.

My reward…An acknowledgement having been stored up in heaven (a treasure)….

To give Every man…to be dispensed to the recipient.

The Reward is according to the works …. That recipient (man), did while alive in his flesh.

WHAT “works” ? ALL / ANY works that which ….GLORIFIED the Lord God Almighty.

There are caveats…
1) “IF” a man DID works, which would have/ could have Glorified God….but such man took the Credit, Thank You’s, trophies, ribbons, ect. FOR HIMSELF…and not accrediting his effort Unto God…
“That man already received, his “reward”.”

2) “IF” a man (saved soul or unsaved soul) DID ANY “works” which DID NOT Glorify God…..his “works” … “shall be burned”.

Moral of Point of understanding…
To receive a “reward” from God “for works a man does IN Service unto God”….requires the man “accredited” God for the mans “ability” to accomplish said works.
