First I would like to present a video of Rev. Franklin Graham presentation in the Trump speech and encouraging people to support, protect and promote Conservative Christianity. Which I enjoyed.
I would like to give my own statement for the ChristianityBoard members.
First, there is not necessarily power in prayer unless God empowers that prayer. Prayer is a humble appeal or petition from God's children towards our God that is the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. And God has power, kingdom, glory and dominion forever and can deliver his people. We look to him for providing that. And I pray that God includes us as a people to do his will in good and help as citizens. That is especially true consider the dangerous false interpretations of the constitution currently happening in some states. We as Conservative Christians enjoy the concepts provided in that constitution by our founding forefathers.
Another area of concern was that God the Father, Jesus the Christ and the Holy Ghost can forgive sins. The statement that "Jesus the Christ came to this earth to take our sins" is a little misleading, depending on the audience. I know that there is a concept called "Universalism" which states all people are saved. The truth is that all will be resurrected. And Jesus the Christ stated that he saved everyone except the "Son of Perdition". And that is a matter for God not man or children. If you would like to understand and don't currently the matter being hinted on in the video, then read the following witness of the words of Jesus the Christ as recorded in the New Testament:
John 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.
6 “I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. 7 Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. 8 For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me.
9 “I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. 10 And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. 11 Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. 12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
The other statement that concerned me was the statement "and the only hope is that we confess our sins and turn and believe on the name of the lord Jesus Christ". I know that the bible directs members of Christ's church to confess their faults one to another when offending each other. But I know full well that confession of sins is directly privately by children of God to God himself. God is the only one that can forgive sins. There is mention of God giving forgiveness and retention of sins by his disciples which I will quote in a moment. The believe in The Father, Son and Holy Ghost is important I know. And that beleif God provides which starts with hope, and faith and then we may be provided belief with witness of God's presence in our lives when he desires. He certainly is a loving God that desires his children to be happy.
John 20:20 When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.
21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” 22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”
He then talks about "dark forces" working against Trump. I do not endorse or support anyone except God as a ruler of man, but we need an organized country and also protection from suppression and dark forces of other countries, etc. And so appointing people from society to be Government, Law Enforcement and all the agencies with the military is intelligent and wise. And I do have concerns for the future of our planet and also the United States of America. But I also accept that the provided republican candidate is Donald Trump and we have the right to support someone that hopefully will help conservative Christians in office as President.
He states that "the only hope for Donald Trump and our nation is God". While that is ultimately true I must confess that I certainly hope God will empower his children, male and female all manner of citizens to aid in the work for allowing conservative Christianity to flourish under the protection of our governing authorities.
I did also enjoy his audience prayer invitation. But did not enjoy the confusion nature of praying out loud in a manner of unorganized conduction. Perhaps something conducted in that nature should have been a provided prayer by the speaker and/or directing to pray silently for a time length stated. I know we have invited prayer for Trump also on this forum located here: Please pray for Trump
