You said in post #22 "They don't even call themselves church. And they meet together in kingdom hall not chapels or churches." You said that as if going to kingdom halls is a bad thing. So my point is why you talking about the JW not meeting in chapels or churches if you know the church is the people not the building. It doesn't matter that the building the JW meet in is called a kingdom Hall because the building isn't the church it's the people in the building whether that building is a chapel or kingdom Hall.

Barney most people are hypocrites because they call their building of worship Churches, makes them better when those same people as soon as they leave their Church commit sin by bad mouthing others and engaging in gossip, I’ve seen the holiest of holy rollers do it.
My point is that they do not call themselves church - they belong to an organisation not the Church.
I definitely know that the Church is the people who meet in buildings call churches or chapels. I have always known that. Why do JWs not call themselves Church? Are you part of the Watchtower organisation aka Jehovah's Witnesses?

JW don't want people in the world to think that they're in any way associated with Christendom. So they try in everyway to organize themselves the way the scriptures said the apostles and disciples organized. JW have no one preacher in the congregation that preaches every Sunday, but instead they have 8 elders and they all preach to the congregation one elder on one Sunday another on another Sunday, etc. None are paid. They have their own jobs in which they make money to support their family. JW are organized to preach to their community about the good news of the kingdom.

Some people it makes them feel good to be part of what they call Church, real Christians it doesn’t matter.
Note: in JW beliefs it matters a TON that you belong to the WatchTower organization.

But in a lambs belief it only matters that one belongs to the biblical Christ and loveth all things that HE did command and teach .
MEN can keep their stuff , as for me and the lambs we choose biblical truth and the LORD , THE GOD , the ONE and the ONLY
who did inspire such a book . LOVETH the TRUTH in that bible or prepare to perish under the twisted doctrines of men
who have through all generations led many astray from the truth and preached yet another jesus that cannot save .

And that is as deadly as the faith catholics have placed in the vatican and in popes .
I have watched both sides accuse the other of trusting in men and yet THEY BOTH do the same thing .
FLEE them all and let us learn CHRIST and those bibles FOR YOURSEVLES and OURSELVES and never look back either .

A relation of mine was a JW for many years. She was 'recruited' as a vulnerable young woman by JWs calling at her house. She fell for their version of the gospel and got ensnared for life. It was such a shame because she a a kind and simple heart and I hope that our merciful God will see that and her sincerity about her belief in him. Even though she was taught the JW way she loved Jesus.
I’m not remotely a fan of the WatchTower organization. But I do very much acknowledge people like your friend whom truly love God. I celebrate them. And the fact that we are saved by faith, and not by our ability to ace a theology test.

I was told they don't believe in birthdays because they are unlucky as in Salome want the head of the Baptist. They don't wear a cross because they see it as an instrument of torture and execution. And the believe Jesus died on a stake not a cross but crucifixion means on a cross so it's confusing. The other things I'm not sure of.
The Watchtower publications are utterly wrong in their beliefs. But all JWs study the same passages at the same time - well not so much study as being told what the passages mean. They are not encouraged to read the bible or any other non JW publication or listen to Christian music.
Do you actually have Watchtowers from 120 years ago or are you just parroting things you cannot possibly know? Why would any of us answer any of your questions? See how Jesus answered false accusations and insincere questions at Matthew 27:12-14. We try to imitate Christ.
I wonder how I knew to refer you to that scripture since as Pearl says, we are not encouraged to read the Bible.

People who need to put others down are people who need to build their ego up because they have low self esteem and small minded so it makes them feel big and good.
Just so you know Jane, there is no Watchtower organization. There is the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society but that is just a required legal structure. The name of our organization is the “Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.”
I should ask, is there a preference between Mormon or Latter Day Saints?
