The Lord asked me to write on this "Presupposing" what He has to say.
It is written that His thoughts are not your thoughts and His ways are not your ways
Is 55:8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD.
But I see Christians telling other Christians what God will do and will not do, as if they fully understand what He will or won't do.
Now I can think of one verse that goes:
Is 44:20 in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago,
So God can not lie to you - however he can send a lying spirit to you!
2 Ch 18:21 He said, ‘I will go and be a deceiving spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.' Then He said, ‘You are to entice him and prevail also. Go and do so.'
So what we need to do is seek Him, Jesus Christ the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS, for ourselves and listen to Him. And check the spirits while you are at it (see 1 Jn 4:1-3)
But do not assume you know what He is going to say or do. Instead seek Him and listen! There is something about taking all thoughts captive to Him.
2 Cor 10:5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,
I remember one day when the Lord told me to go use the bathroom. I didn't need to and I told Him so! Then suddenly I did need to and went. He said something to me which seemed unimportant, so I don't remember what it was. But what I do clearly remember was going to a bible study that night and the person running the study told everyone that God would not tell us when to go to the bathroom. HAAA - that was why the Lord had wanted me to hear what He had to say to me in the bathroom earlier that same day. It was to be able to tell them that He might tell you to and did tell me that very day to go to the bathroom.
Where it is written "taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ," it means: "taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ," and stop "Presupposing" what He is going to tell you and others!!!!!!!
My wife remembers a leader in a Christian church telling them that God would never tell you what socks to put on. Well that is just wrong, I have had Him often tell me what clothes to wear that day, including what socks to put on. I remember a specific day that the Lord had put on an extremely bright red Hawaiian style shirt one Sunday for church. So I did it, and when I got there and came through the door the pastor also was wearing and extremely bright shirt like it. He looked and me an laughed, as I did at him also.
It turned out that God had told him to buy his shirt during a recent mission trip, and he was supposed to wear it that morning while he told about his trip, then he was to pin the shirt in the wall as part of a display about the trip. So when I walked into the church that morning wearing a shirt like his we both enjoyed the awesome little unexpected things that God does in our lives. So listen to Him and stop presupposing what God wants to do!!
