Another update here:

Things could be worse. My lung spot according to one specialist could be from a hiatal hernia or other digestive issues. That is one of the other possibilities for me.

I had a virtual appointment with a gastro specialist on Monday [11-29] to check out some of the other possibilities. He has scheduled tests for me on 12-14 ... one through the rectum and another down my throat. Neither one cheers me especially. I might decide to stay home that day... but my wife won't allow that. The gastro specialist say he doubts his tests will eliminate the need eventually to have a biopsy done. Talk about being invaded! I believe they will have to go down my throat for the biopsy as well when it comes to that.

So then on 1-3-2022 in the morning I have an appointment for another CT scan to monitor any changes to the nodule. That same afternoon I will meet with the thoracic surgeon to plan on what is next dependent on what all of the tests show. Maybe a biopsy? Maybe surgery to remove the thing?

To keep us on my toes I guess I had a staff infection in my eyes this past month and had to visit another specialist. I was treated with a steroid ointment for several days which has improved the eye discomfort. My eyes still bother me but I just wash them carefully every day for the moment. At least I can see to read my Bible and to see my computer screen.

Also, last month my wife had a mammogram and they found a spot in one breast that needed to be checked. When they told her that she jokingly told me that we were going to make our 50th anniversary [6-25-2022] even if she only had one 'boob' and I only had one lung.

They scheduled an ultrasound on the one breast and the results were good... with no cancer or other problems for her in that anyway... Give God the glory for that!

However, my wife is a bit stubborn and long suffering. Her back, on which she has had two surgeries, is causing her a lot of pain. She has seen our primary physician, but she won't allow anyone to contact the specialist about that while my "possible" is pending.

We await definite word on me.

Please continue to pray for both of us!

When it rains...
Don't worry about those tests, sounds like a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. I get them as my dad passed from it and a couple brothers have had positive polyps. I get the endoscopy (supposed to every year but, haven't since before covid hit) I once was diagnosed with
Barrett's Syndrome (wearing away of esophagus lining) but, believe it has healed and...they pretty much put you all the way out so you won't even Know what's happening till you wake up in the recovery with the rest of the "farters" had maybe 5 of them and, remember all the sounds i the recovery room lol.

I love your wife! You two are perfect for one another. Thanking God for her report and will pray for her painful back, for sure.

And how in the world did you get staph in your eye I wonder?
I'll be praying also for all to be well with you and the possible biopsy.

@Nancy I have not a clue about how I got the eye infection. I am just glad it is clearing up. Now that I have finished using the medicated ointment, just cleaning it every day keeps it from bothering me like it did earlier.

Thanks for letting us all know where things are, pleased to hear that your wife’s outcome was a positive. In many respects, despite the prospect of the tests , it doesn’t sound as if they are overly worried. I know nothing is ruled out at this stage, but at least there is hope that it is something that can be dealt with xx

She is a character and although small in stature not one to come up against... Early in our marriage, before we met the Lord, we would go into bars, periodically and she would often start a fight. Not wanting her to hurt anyone, I would throw her ninety pounds plus over my shoulder and carry her out that place.

She had four brothers, two older, and two younger ones, but she was the one they all came to for help against the bullies...

After we met the Lord, He mellowed her strength, He did not diminish it... if you understand my meaning.

Today I have started my liquid diet in preparation for the two tests tomorrow: Endoscopy and Colonoscopy. I won't miss the food, but already I miss my coffee. I am allowed to drink it, but it has been years since I was able to drink it black. I'll skip it for a couple of days.

Hopefully they will discover something useful.
Please continue to keep me in prayer.

Oh boy, colonoscopies are so much fun. (Especially the prep work.)

I am doing fine for an old man of 78. They tired me out but I am back to normal for me for the moment.

They found diverticulosis in large intestine and a small hiatal hernia above. No cancers found so that is good. Give God the glory!

Now I await 2 more tests on 1-3-2022, one blood test and another CT scan to see if the nodule in my lung has changed. Those are in the AM. In the PM I see the thoracic surgeon and we proceed from there.

One good thing included with the results of this procedure was the following recommendation by the doctor: "Repeat colonoscopy not recommended due to current age (66 years or higher) for surveillance."

That is fine with me unless they can skip the preparation. Being old has its advantages: LOL...
