I have been epileptic since I was about 5 years old or so. Pretty much as long as I can remember. I've been reading the bible long enough to have read the story of when the disciples couldn't cast out the demon possessed boy and Jesus said, this kind only goes out by prayer and fasting. (Matthew 17:14-20) But who likes to think that they are possessed? Not me. So I stood on the medical problem from being hit in the head by falling when I was young. And after all, doesnt the anti-seizure medication control my seizures? Yes they do. But I've been epileptic for more than 50 years and there aint no cure. And one of these days if I am here when they change over to the mark of the best system and no one can buy or sell without the mark...I wont be able to buy my medication. I dont want to be havng seizures in last days bad situations. That could be deadly. So since I was 5 years old I learned that the Lord is real and the authority of in Jesus name is the name above all names.
So perhaps I should treat this sickness as a spirit and deal with it as a spirit in Jesus name to rid myself of the spirit and the illness completely. But Jesus said, this kind dont go out but by Prayer and fasting. I fasted once for it so far and I prayed about it and the Lord said that He has won the victory, so now I must go and enforce it with the authority that He has given us, In Jesus Name. Uhhhh, okayyy.
So I was reading up on prayer and in Matthew 6 Jesus says:
5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.../KJV
The first thing He says here, When you pray. It isnt a suggestion, it is expected by Him for us to pray. When you pray, not if you pray! and that's significant. And He goes on to tell them how to pray the right way in verses (Matt. 6: 6-13) and I just happened to continue reading it and saw something surprising.
Matthew 6:16
16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.../KJV
Jesus continued talking to them and started talking about fasting. And He started talking about fasting exactly like he started talking about prayer! I never seen that before! He is putting fasting on the same level as Prayer! "When you Fast" Not if you fast. The Lord expects us to fast. This kind dont go out except by Prayer and Fasting. He didnt say how much fasting or prayer. So I need to fast more and pray more and keep taking authority and speaking to the spirit to cast it out in Jesus name. Until it goes out one day.
I prayed that when the spirit finally leaves me that I will be able to feel it leave. So I know! Is this a good approach? Treat it as a spirit? Cast it out. Pray fast pray fast Cast it out in Jesus name! Am I missing anything? I dont know a whole lot about demonology. All I really know is what scripture says. I think it's a good plan.
