Dear Glenn
Thank you for the update. It helps us pray more wisely. ♥︎
You are both is such a tough place right now. Something neither of you signed up for!!
The verses that God gave me for my dad when I was helping him through his last weeks was from 2 Cor 4:17--
"
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
18
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven"
I held on to that tightly and quoted it out loud every day many times... PAIN and agony are such enemies.

A Christian does not fear death ..we know Jesus conquered death and took it's sting. But many of us ( of which I am chief ) ..fear the pain that the Enemy sends to distract us from the presence of the Lord.
( I'm pretty sure this is what Jesus was feeling on the cross when the pain overcame God felt presence and we feel alone.)
It must be so hard for you to feel the helplessness that a care giver goes through while supporting a loved one. I'm sure Cheryl is more 'there' now than here...and probably longing to be free and with the Lord.
I'm so glad that you have help. Will you have a regular hospice nurse now, who can pop in and give you support. I am unfamiliar how things in USA work. Up here my dad had a nurse who would come in once a week and check on things.
Our thoughts prayers and love is with you both.
Every blessing....Helen & Dave.
