Pope Francis has died and so there will be the election of a new pope by the cardinals.
But as I read about it this morning it came to my mind that every born again Christian - catholic or not - should be praying for the right man to be chosen; that the Holy Spirit will guide the cardinals to choose the right man .
God put it on my heart many years ago to pray for the Catholic church so I will be praying for guidance of the cardinals and also for the new pope once elected.

Comment: Many Christians believe that this pope was more political than appropriate for the Vicar of Christ. Yet, as he mentally prepared to stand in judgment, he must have rationalized his behavior.

If someone truly knows and believes the gospel according to Scripture, they cannot pretend that someone who promoted a false gospel is in heaven just to sound polite. Pope Francis spent his life promoting teachings that directly contradict the Bible—elevating Mary, encouraging interfaith unity at the expense of truth, claiming authority over Christ’s church, and teaching that works and sacraments are part of salvation. That is not the gospel. Galatians 1:8 is clear: “But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.” Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, not through any religious system, no matter how large or long-standing. It’s not our place to declare with certainty where anyone is now, but we can and must warn others not to follow the same path. A truly born-again believer should grieve for the millions misled and use this moment to point people back to the Word of God, where the only true gospel is found. He was trying to get you to understand that they are not of the faith and are lost.

They teach a lot of things not taught in God's Word so they are not of the Doctrine of Christ as the New Testament teaches.
