So what do you think of Scripture verse tattoos? (proven effective in witness conversations...)I did indeed vote! I personally just don't feel I need any tattoo... That money wouldn't even make it to the tattoo parlor... It would already be gone and used on books lol.
@justbyfaith So is she doing better now? and has she mentioned her ink lately? As I said before, she did it to commemorate a milestone in her mental health treatment or something like that.
Yes, there is a personal standard to keep to, especially if it's visible, right?

Celtic armbands and back placements are popular, aren't they? So is your son married?I was too late to vote. I would never get a tattoo but my son has several including a very prominent one on his arm which says, 'Only God can judge me'. He also has a Celtic band on the top of his arm and some design on the top of hi back and I think there may be another. He is not a biker or a military man, he is not a drinker or gambler either but a nicely brought up lad from a Christian home who doesn't really believe yet. He has them just cos he likes them.
It's fine farouk. I only just discovered that some of your posts were invitations.@Pearl PS: Sorry the poll just closed! (maybe I should start another...)
It's okay; in the past where a poll has expired I have sometimes started a different thread with a new poll. It's fine farouk. I only just discovered that some of your posts were invitations.
@tzcho2 I guess when Christian young men and women get tattooed — as so many do — with Bible verse or witness designs, the fact that they are very effective in starting testimony conversations probably shows that these are embracing the medium rather than resisting it. (If this makes sense?)I was giving the historical use of tattoos, it was not until recently made into a massively accepted popular culture fashion statement.
I believe you said that previously. Personally , I do not think it is biblical to get a tattoo and it's an example of following after popular culture & fashion trends. Saying it's effective like you do- is a subjective at best & an anecdotal thing and changes nothing. But those who like their ink, will sell it however they can.@tzcho2 I guess when Christian young men and women get tattooed — as so many do — with Bible verse or witness designs, the fact that they are very effective in starting testimony conversations probably shows that these are embracing the medium rather than resisting it. For me, I didn't yield to peer pressure or follow popular culture trends when I was a teenager and I don't do that now. I'm taught by the scripture to be in the world but not of it. The bible tells us how to stand apart, be salt & light & how it is through how we live in community loving our neighbor that we give testimony, share the gospel, not by imitating fashion styles of what the unsaved do.
Sorry but I see it as an over justification of tattoos & as a self-serving thing because you're enamored with it.Thanks for your comment.
My wife and I talked to a young lady with the whole of John 3.16 tattooed on her wrist area; and I'm sure other conversations have arisen as a result of her willingness to have it done. The tattoo is what so many young men and women do at around 18 and evidently many Christian young ppl wish to use the medium in witness. I guess I was simply glad to see a verse of Scripture which would be the subject of conversations with this confidently tattooed young lady.
.I guess you don't have any family members with ink...
.It's fair to say that over the years and decades perceptions of tattoos can change considerably.
