Government is supposed to just be government, an earthly practical thing for administrating practical earthly affairs of a country. We are to pray for government and pray regarding practical needs and running of the nation, etc, but there is danger in confusing and conflating the practical realm with God's kingdom and church. The holy and the common/profane are not to be mixed together. Scripture says we are to distinguish between them. Many seem to be confusing politics with a holy war these days, and that is a deception and lure.
