Thanks farouk, it's on the Bridgewater canal at Worsley and stand above the iron ore mine that makes the water brown, They used to take boats right into the mine. It was a few miles from where I lived as a girl and has always been part of my life.

Usually it's somatic mutations that make it happen, but I don't know for sure. (Barbarian checks)

Yep. Mutations do that, and some growers select for it. On the other hand, Mosaic virus can do something similar, but it looks somewhat different.
