How sad

Pastor Brent Hawkes of The Metropolitan Community Church in Toronto, Canada, thinks that calling Jesus "Savior" is offensive to people of other faiths and the title should be removed from the church.

He also thought marrying gay men was fine, even before it was legal in Canada. That certainly helps explain this heretical nonsense.

To be a Christian means to believe that Jesus Christ is Savior. Brent Hawkes may not have gotten the memo, as he believes this is too offensive to Muslims, Jews, and other religions.

There’s only one problem with this guy’s theology: Everything. The Bible itself calls Him ‘Lord’, ‘Savior’, ‘King’ - and it’s not open for debate or censorship based on what anyone feels or thinks.

Our question to people in his congregation. Why haven’t you wiped the dust off your feet and left this church? I sincerely hope this guy isn’t part of the ecumenical group hug that PARL regularly takes part in.

Mohammed is a false prophet, Roman Catholicism is a false system of worship, Mormonism is a false religion, Judaism is a Christ-less shell of meaningless traditions, Hinduism is a false religion, along with Buddhism, and Scientology.

Jesus is our Savior. Only Jesus. “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).

2 Corinthians 11:14-15 Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness,

I offend a lot of people in public, talking about Jesus and praying over my food in public, loud.

I find that I also offend so called "Christians" as well as lots of other people when I speak on what the Bible teaches. No one wants the wax in their ears taken out so that they can hear.

There are Christians being arrested for silently praying on street corners (not even whispering).

Although standing on street corners to be seen of men praying is not something that Jesus seems to advocate for, these are not even praying out loud (for all anyone can tell they are doing math in their heads). But Jesus does say,

Mat 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

The rewards (these days) are heavy fines and being thrown in prison, so the rewards arent that desirable anyway.

The Pharisees were offended at " Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

"having ear wax they hear not"?

Thats a new one clfh

I'm not a Pharisee or a Priest in the Temple. Jesus sends His people out as missionaries, at home and abroad, and in your neighborhood.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Romans 10:17.
Many people get saved overhearing a conversation about Jesus. They don't want to be confronted but they will listen. When you pray, and praising Jesus, you are Glorifying Jesus.
Jesus says if you deny me in front of men, I will deny you in front of the Father, Matthew 10:33.

Matthew 12:30 - Anyone who isn’t with me opposes me, and anyone who isn’t working with me is actually working against me.

I work with Jesus and I am a missionary wherever I go.

Why on earth would you take my post on Matt 6:5 personal? You did not say that you were standing on street corners praying to be seen of men as Jesus was speaking of. Rather, you spoke of praying over your food (which I would assume you were sitting before).

I didn't take it personally; I was just giving you, my reasons. I'm out there sharing my faith, like God wants me to do as an ambassador.

You said, " I'm not a Pharisee"

I never called you one, so why would you answer to Jesus words like that?

Then you posted Romans 10:17

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Which pertains to preaching (as if to prayer) if you read Romans 10:18 which was cut off but reads

Romans 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

And then you said,

Many people get saved overhearing a conversation about Jesus.

But here you equating His words about not standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets (as one praying to be seen of men) as if it is the same as having a real conversation about Jesus.

Which I believe you are because you followed up with

They don't want to be confronted but they will listen.

Which would pertain more to them listening to us pray to the Father (which is to be done in secret) or the preaching Jesus Christ openly?

You continue saying,

When you pray, and praising Jesus, you are Glorifying Jesus.

I agree with you on all three. However, I just posted Jesus own words (not my own). And you responded as you did, so are you really trying to convince me or Jesus here?

He simply tells us,

Mat 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Mat 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Then you began pitting his own words (in the above) against him by quoting something else on denying Jesus by saying,

Jesus says if you deny me in front of men, I will deny you in front of the Father, Matthew 10:33.

Which seems to indicate that when Jesus would tell us to pray in secret but we chose rather to pray before men to be seen of the same that this "is not" denying him? As if you are comparing things equally.

Because then you quote what Jesus says here

Matthew 12:30 - Anyone who isn’t with me opposes me, and anyone who isn’t working with me is actually working against me.

And so I do not understand how you might consider it opposing (In Mat 12:30) while seeking to obey Jesus in Mat 6:6 though. You are both contradicting and trying to equate certain things that arent meshing between them.

The part I used is about public speaking, like Jesus did. Matthew 6:5-6 is private prayer. Jesus is saying don't pray in public like the Pharisees who stand out there in repeated words like a performance for everyone to see. I am sorry if I posted anything you saw as wrong.

The Jews back in the day, sure as hell did not want anyone mentioning Salvation in fact ! it was taboo.
