No puppies and kittens in heaven? - Why not?

Then there was the time I thought I'd impress the woman who would later become my wife by taking her to a fancy French restaurant. She ordered "Hot Tea", but the waiter thought she said "Pate", and the tab at the end of the night was significantly higher than I planned. Pretty good marketing to get you to pay that much for the privilege of eating goose liver on a Ritz cracker. C'est la vie. She still gets a kick out of that story.
Yes, that's some very high-end dining.
I've had caviar, but am not a huge fan. Life's an adventure. I always want to try new things.

I prefer the one sold at my local supermarket for E2,99 for a tiny bottle.
Just enough to use for color on some types of pasta that I make.
I like the red --- whatever that is.

This is something I have shared a few times with people. Now the bible really says nothing at all about pets in heaven but I did have one experience I really cant explain.
This was in late '97 shortly after I had moved out of my parent's home. Their dog, Jojo, a white mini-husky/mini-poodle mix had just died at 13.
I was horridly depressed that I wasnt there for her when she died. Especially because I was kind of her favorite person. Not really knowing any better at the time (as I know now God doesnt send the dead to speak to the living), as I was still a baby Christian, I kept asking God to let me see her just once more so I can say goodbye properly.
Early one morning about 3 am or so, I was partially awakened by a bright light. I wasnt fully awake but this was no dream. I remember thinking to myself that I didnt want to fully wake up lest what I was seeing disappeared. I saw a man (who? No clue) walking a small white dog and almost instantly the dog was beside me and I remember I had my hands on her giving her hugs and side scratches, and I was saying over and over I love you, I'm sorry i wasnt there.
I had a bible teacher at the time say to me that this wasnt of God but that really never made sense to me cuz why would the devil do something nice for me when he has nothing to gain from it?
Looks like you knew more than your bible teacher.
Sometimes we're so set in our doctrinal ways that we miss a lot of what God has for us.
A lot gets taken away from us in this world....but God comes through and gives us comfort also many times.
All good comes from God....(as you correctly believed).

Yeah I've never ate that sort of thing before. I've ate sushi quite a bit. I like sushi.
But I had peanut butter & crackers today, lol!
I've never ate any caviar either. I've seen it before but...it didnt speak to me I guess, lol.
That was a good testimony.
I was thinking this week about the things that make humans happy.
While in a grocery store, I went by the bakery where they have decorated cakes on display.
A family with three children came by and the kids went crazy looking at the decorated cakes.
Each child was imagining the cake they wanted for their birthday.
And I don't think it had anything to do with how much they like to eat cake.
It was about the attention and love they feel when they can choose the cake they want.
And the transpiring event of a birthday party. The cake is the centerpiece of the event.
This is just one example of the human desire to be loved and have a full life.
An online ad showed three children again being told that if they weren't "good" that they
would "get coal for Christmas." On Christmas day the three opened gifts full of dog treats and pet products.
Which left them wondering. Just then the Mom introduced them to "Coal" their new black Lab puppy.
The children were, of course, thrilled.
Probably not the time to tell them that there would be no puppies in heaven. Seriously?

With this in mind, what should we expect from a Father God who is the very definition of love?
Will he not lavish his children with every good thing?
Even as earthly parents, we would do anything to give our children a full and fulfilling life.
Matthew 7:9-11 NIV
“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?
11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
