That's a great question.
What other reasons are there to follow Christ other than "We are incapable of managing our own life." ?

[

No "agnostic or atheist" or similar unbeliever, needs to try to "follow Christ".

They might as well rent a uni-cycle and chase a Taxi......as its equally as useless.

Jesus said "you MUST to be BORN AGAIN"........and that is what they NEED....

What an unbeliever needs to understand, is that the grave is not the end of them... that they will continue, and they are going to end up in one of two places.

Once thats lands on them, they come to Jesus to get those sins dealt with......so that they can get their eternity RESOLVED, and have peace with God.. = forever.

"but behold, what if they dont believe in sin, or HELL, as you find with some extremely deceived fake christians who waste members time with their endless nonsense daily posting?

Well, in that case they will believe in Hell.....after they die, as being there has the eternal effect of proving to them 2 things.

1.) Jesus is Real

2.) Hell is real.

No one truly follows Christ by their own decision. This is a supernatural heavenly affair, outside the domain of men.

Calvin is a liar.

Free Will definitely exists.

God says we are to Believe in Jesus....to put OUR FAITH that is OUR TRUST... in Christ........and that is not God doing that for us... as if He caused us to believe then WE DIDNT..

See, to have FAITH in Christ, is a free will decision..

This is why John 3 says.....>>that whosoever.... will believe"...

it does not say...........as Demonic Hyper Calvinism teaches........that "All who are forced, compelled, CAUSED... = MADE to Believe" shall have eternal life.

Avoid Hyper Calvinism.. "TULIP">. "the 5 points" as its a : Doctrine of devils and those who teach it are of the same.

I wish for once you would ask me what I meant by my post rather that playing quick-draw again, to kill off something you no nothing about, it seems. You just show your continual ignorance here, once again.

So, ask me what I meant. It is not what you think it means Behold! A genuine reborn person would know however. Are you one of them?

You posted this...

So, then if the person does not decide to follow Christ, that is because they chose not to follow Christ.

Listen little one, everything you have ever done, or will ever do next, is your Free WILL decision.

Are you going to post some mindless rant, again? Then you made that decision.

Its on you.........its always on you.
See, you are accountable for your DECISIONS......... not God.

Are you born again?
I can't tell, but if so, then you chose Christ.

If you've yet to do it, @APAK, then "now is the day of Salvation".

(Choose).

Why do you need another reason? Adam failed, we stand condemned, and we need a shephard to lead us to the place pepared for us so that where He is we might be also.

My agnostic friend acknowledges that some people need something, like religion, to help them get along in life.
He considers himself to be in the group that doesn't need something, like religion, to help him get along in life.

I think this is his polite way of saying, crutches are fine for those who need them, but he doesn't need one.
Ironically, he walks using a cane. - LOL

Humor aside, how would you respond? Why do we need a relationship with God?
Or, more to the point, why does he need a relationship with God? Remember, he is agnostic,
so appeals to the existence of God and the reliability of the Bible have little bearing.

He was raised Lutheran, baptized and confirmed in the church.
Stopped going to church at some point. Married a Catholic woman that was also estranged from the church.
Which ended in a nasty divorce which nearly destroyed my friend. I have been an important support for him.
He is now remarried to a Protestant Christian who is also estranged from the church, but has a relationship with God.

Tell him it's not just for life. He needs a parachute after death. He can control where he is in this life, but he has no ability to make a choice where he goes next.

The wife can help.

1 Peter 3
"Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives."

Christianity is not about managing your own life.

Its about gaining real life, that is only found "in Christ".

Its this.......Jesus said...."I have come to give you LIFE, (that they may have life) and that (Life) more abundantly".

See, there is existence, as all exist, but until we are born again into God, as "one with God" "in Christ" then we do not have real "life" as real life is "eternal life" and that life is "the Gift of Eternal life".....and to have it, you "must be born again" or you have lived and now will die, and never had it, and never will once you pass from this place into the eternal next.

I follow Jesus out of admiration and have come to the conclusion that if you do not you have a crippled view.

I think this is a key point. Thanks. Spot on!
My friend is already relying on some, or many, things that he NEEDS.

Time for a study in COMPARATIVE "religions" with my friend. - LOL
He claims he doesn't need religion, but he already has one.
"How is that working?"

/
I would ask him to describe the God he doesn't believe in. I would wager a year's salary that you don't believe in that God either.

Is that the only reason you follow him? Is there anyone whom you admire but don’t follow?
I only follow Jesus Matthias. He has captured my imagination and secured my allegiance.
I have learnt that those who KNOW Jesus reveal it by their talk and behaviour. Conversely, those who say they know him but don’t, reveal it in the subject matter they glorify.

Only because you admire him?

(I’m tempted to ask about two other persons but I’ll forego it.)

I don't think the problem for him is with God. The problem for him is with Christians. (present company accepted)
It would be like asking him to join the Nazi party. No way!

Such could only a universalist say.
I’m not a universalist though. However many believe God is failing to reach many when he gives them life every day. Good or bad, God makes it rains on the unjust and the just alike such said Jesus.
