Hi everyone it's your friendly village atheist again!
It's been a long time since I posted here (about six years) - so long, in fact, that my profile says I have no "active posts".
I've not lurked here for much of the time since I was active, so coming back here I see that lots has changed. In case anyone's wondering why I've returned after so long, I was prompted by an email I received from the board saying that "Amongs other lacks, we [...] were not welcoming enough to atheists, agnostics, and other faiths. I think we have rectified some of this or are in the midst of taking steps to fix all of this."
So I thought I'd have a look and see how welcoming the place is to a village atheist!
On the subject of being welcoming to atheists, I'm a little unsure about where I can and can't post here. The new forum layout has a section that's labelled as "Christians Only", which would seem to imply that you're fine with non-Christians posting in the parts of the board that don't have that label. However, the rules say "Those who are not of the Christian faith are welcome to sign up but will be relegated to private forum discussion with staff members only." which implies that I'm not allowed to post anywhere except a special private forum. I can see no such forum, athough I do see posts by non-Christians in the "Non-Christian Forums" section at the bottom. It's all rather confusing - so some guidance about where I am and am not allowed to post would be useful!
(By the way, I also notice that on my profile it says that I'm in the "Christian Members" group. How do I change that?)
