In all actuality, today we are witnessing prophecy being fulfilled. For the past 2023 years, the "restraining force" has been the Gospel of Jesus Christ, aka the KoG. The Age of God's Grace, aka the symbolic 1000 years.

There will be no more death (or births) in the New heaven and New earth. That means that there will be no plant or animal kingdoms, etc. to be found in the NH/NE.

If you think so, then you would be saying that literal animals and plant life will have Eternal Life also. If not, then there would be death.
Though many scriptures allude to such an idea of animals and plant life being in the NH/NE , all of it is casted in symbolic form, and is not to be understood literally.

Jesus Himself is the fulness of God's Creation of THAT New creature, being the "firstborn from the dead", "among many brethren". Col. 1:18, Rom. 8:29.

Good post, Ty! It seems to me that in a nutshell, Sodom was also guilty of "inhospitality".
I seem to remember the Jews of the OT were very big on sojourners being welcomed! I mean, Lot sure did find hospitality to be of such importance as to give his own flesh and blood to be gang raped. Always made me believe that women were just chattel, even in Christianity...until reading Galatians 3:28

And the reason it bothers anyone is that it exposes our sacred cows. Rape is less than the murder that Abraham was willing to commit for God.

The 1C says that God comes 1st, meaning you should be willing to sacrifice anything before you sacrifice your relationship with God. And that is the lesson of the story, that it would have been a sin to allow the gang to rape God's messengers - a sin worse than if they raped his daughters. It is worse because preventing one's daughters from being raped is NOT the 1C!
