Socialism has failed in country it infected.
Bernie Sanders, the mentor of AOC, is a Communist Socialist.
Years ago when running for president he touted Socialist principles. He even named Socialist countries as fine examples of success.
Problem was those countries had abandoned Socialism long before. The PM,if I recall his office correctly,publicly chastised Bernie for claiming his country was still Socialist.
Bernie isn't actually a Communist Socialist. He's a puppet that touts Socialism.
Meanwhile old Bern owns three mansions,was on welfare in his early years before entering public office. And during his presidential run had an embarrassing little money scandal errupt regarding the Mrs. and her job.
It's like the Leftist politician push for gun control. While they're protected round the clock by armed security.
The guns they want control over are ours.

To be fair, this Utopian model is well intentioned, just not realistic. They will tell you this model is not like the old socialism seen in the past, but a New World Order. They do believe that they can create world peace, solve world hunger, but all countries must relinquish their sovereignty. Hidden beneath the guise of The Climate Change Accord, global governance will control us. It is wealth distribution leading to equity for all. "Come and get a life you never worked for from people who have"!
For this model to work effeciently, world population needs to be downsized drastically; so effort is made on many fronts: Wars, famines, abortions, contraception, vaccines, sterilization, transgenderism, gay marriage, lethal drugs, etc., all contribute to their agenda. We have heard the elites claim a 90% reduction in population is needed for the world to live at a higher standard of living or at least at the level Americans live now. This is why the Left want open borders.
We have this inner yearning for a perfect world where all have as much as they need and want, peace, love and harmony. But it can't be accomplished by human design. Why? Because of sin. Sin needs to be removed and only God can do that. And so that is the plan. This NWO will try to make their plan work and fail and Jesus will come and fix things.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. I'm reminded of the quip, it's not slavery, it's democratic slavery. Communism, by any other name, is evil and has 3 fatal flaws:
- Denies human nature. Communism appeals to the sin of coveting. People don't equally want material goods. As Aristotle put it, It is not the possession of things but the satisfying of desires that demand to be equalized.
- Denies justice. Getting what you earn is justice. Socialism requires people get without earning it.
- Denies the Law of Supply and Demand.
"Give what you can. Take what you need." is a feminine mentality that appeals to feeling good for providing for everyone in theory while denying the 3-point masculine reality of above. History shows people inevitably give less than they can compared to other incentive based systems. At the same time, take far more than they need.
This is why Margaret Thatcher said, "The problem with socialism is sooner or later, you run out of other people's money."
One of their final solutions is killing billions of useless eaters.
I think they will start with the infirm elderly. They already have no qualms about abortion.

Like temperature being a measure of heat, money is a measure of economic activity, an exchange of value for value. When people produce less and demand is dramatically higher, it puts upward pressure on price.
Many control economies use force to keep prices artificially down. The consequence is seen over and over and over again. There is no supply, making the economy ripe for black markets. Decades ago Venezuela, being oil rich, was one of the richest countries on Earth. A couple of decades of socialism and its citizens were dumpster diving, scavenging to keep starvation away.
Given it's history, it is remarkable how popular this covet based system remains.

Yes, they take a position that the retired people don't produce anymore, so why not get rid of them ... they are just costing us too much, getting sicker, racking up exorbitant medical expenses and government debt ... That will probably come when the antichrist is in charge: "You retire from work, you retire from life."
I remember a movie called, "Logan's Run", set in a future society where there were no old people, your number up when you hit 50 years old. Logan could not except his fate, so he escaped, ran, rebelled against the system.
Authoritarian socialists will all say we did not have the right people in control when pointing out to them the hundreds of millions socialists starved tortured killed the last 200 years. To be fair, Trump gave a knee jerk reaction to Covid 19, enabling the WHO, Fauci and BiG Pharma to mask the world, social distance us and lock us down when we really didn't have to. He should have fired Fauci and not let this hidden power dictate our lives and crippled the economy. Trump was naive about trusting anyone when he came in. He thought he could work with them, unite everyone ... They turned on him like a viper. He learned his lesson and is still learning ... at what cost though ... almost his life. But Covid certainly caused a recession. Don't get me wrong, we would done much better with Trump at the helm. We were energy independent and the borders were closed, but so were hundreds of thousands of businesses. We were all fearful and uncertain of this virus, and so did what they told us to do and suffered for it.
