NYC passed a Reparations Bill and California responds with protests at the Sacramento Capital because they voted against it. As liberal as California is, they know they can't afford it. Neither can NY.
Sure, give 40 million people $140k each?
Let's add another 6 trillion to our debt, the Great Reset is coming anyways right?
It's just a polical play to recapture the black votes that they have recently lost to Trump ... AND to fuel more division. Promises, promises ... it just like the College loan forgiveness idea to get their votes and it didn't happen.
Here is a quote from a councilman in NYC who voted against the Bill:
"If they can introduce me to someone who owned a slave I’d be happy to consider it," he added. "But until then, I am not paying a dime as a reparation for a harm I did not cause, nor condone, nor once participated in."
I agree with his comment.
Reparations should have been paid 159 years ago _ to that generation. The Lincoln Administration promised 40 acres to them. Some of them got it but did Andrew Jackson repeal it? I don't know, the revisionists have altered historical records. Does anyone have a 1960 Encyclopedia Britanica?
Only 25% of blacks are descendants of slaves, the rest aren't. So will they go to Ancestry .com to find the truth?
Yes racial injustices continued to this day.
But here is the overall problem >>>
Sin towards anyone is an injustice that everyone has suffered!
>>> Jesus paid the price for all sins with His life.
Believe it and you will be free of the bondage that you now suffer! Money will is not true freedom. Jesus gives us eternal life.
I was a slave to sin. Many people still are, likely most of people who live in NYC. Believe in Jesus and follow him and you will be free and rich beyond material possessions.
The love of money is the root of all evil.
>>> If Kamala became president and they actually followed through with this Bill nationwide, then let the Jews file a motion against Egypt to pay reparations to all Jews for enslaving them for 400 years _ with interest. And might as well go after Iraq too, ancient Babylon enslaved them for 70 years.
Actually most countries in the world practiced and enforced slavery - it was common - not that it was right. In many cases, it was fair and just. What? Actually servant is a more humane term in some cases, as in the Bible. People that owed debts who couldn't pay became servants to the lender until their debt was paid. That sounds fair. But of course agressively conquering people, pillaging, plundering and enslaving them was wrong.
>>> The USA was the only country to fight a Civil War against slavery.
>> A different perspective, yet provacative is this: What if we never enslaved Africans and brought them over, where would their decendarts be today? In the impoverished, coastal countries who all live below the standard of living in inner city slums of America! Ouch! And what if Europe never colonized Africa and left it alone? What religions would they be practicing , Vodoo? Likely they would have all been Muslims, who typically conquered and occupied territories and forced their religion. But we don't have to play the "What if ..." game. Why?
We have to accept history as it was. Why? GOD IS SOVEREIGN AND HIS PERFECT PLAN ALLOWED ALL OF IT; GOOD AND EVIL, FOR A PURPOSE.
