Ok so you disagree? Have you read any of his books?BiggAndyy said:Well, aside from your "contribution" Moltmann is the key figure in the development of the "Social Trinity" interpretation of the Trinity whereby the Triune God consists of three distinct persons whose unity consists of a loving relationship.

What he teaches is in the videos. Interviews with him also. His ideas are a driving force behind the emergent church movement and ecumenicism.BiggAndyy said:He has never come up before on my radar except as an attribution. I have no opinion of his teachings until I can get a hold of some of them.
What is UR? He very definitely is in one of those videos. Now that I think about it, probably the second one. In it he basically says he's not a Christian, or something like that. Long video, tough to remember all of the details.jiggyfly said:I watched the video and I didn't hear anything that indicated that Moltmann is part of the "emergent church" movement. But he is very much a part of UR.
I struggle on some of the theology he presents too Andy, but I have read a couple of his books and like what I am able to understand. His teachings are very biblical imo at least the ones I have read. I am ordering so more of his books and have read "Science And Wisdom" by Moltmann and a book that addresses Moltmann's theology titled "God Will Be All in All" by Bauckham and another titled "the Kingdom And The Power:The Theology Of Jurgen Moltmann" by Geiko Muller-Fahrenholz.
I am not sure that I have the mind for theology but I like to read some theological studies and I like Motmann's the best. When I was studying for my master in apologetics I read several and later discovered Moltmann and like you Andy some of it is hard to grasp but as I said earlier what I have understood I have liked very much.
You should watch the 2nd video again there is not much of Jurgen actually speaking most of it is others speaking about him and how his theology has effected them.ChristRoseFromTheDead said:What is UR? btw, I don't have a mind for theology either. Don't really like it.
I do want to watch it again. Didn't he state in the video that he wasn't a christian or something? I can't remember what he said, but I do remember it throwing up a red flag for me.jiggyfly said:You should watch the 2nd video again there is not much of Jurgen actually speaking most of it is others speaking about him and how his theology has effected them.
Elvis influenced several country singers but that doesn't mean that Elvis was country.
UR stands for universal reconciliation.
Please watch it again and make note of what is being said is opinions of others and that this video is against the emergent movement. I think they mention Moltmann because his theology may have had some influence with some of the emergent movement leaders. Seems to me that many in the video think God's judgment is the same as His wrath, I have not read all of Moltmann's material but I do not recall him teaching that there will be no judgment. I will go back and study this out but it may take a little time because my library is still packed up from our move.ChristRoseFromTheDead said:I do want to watch it again. I was confusing Moltmann with Peter Drukker in the first video.jiggyfly said:Please watch it again and make note of what is being said is opinions of others and that this video is against the emergent movement.
