Joke with a good lesson...

I just want to take a break from all the serious debating and studying of God's Word.

Is there a "fun/joke" section of this website? If so, it should be in there.... In any sense, I don't like religous jokes because they often are at the expense of God. But this one may be something that God does from time to time, becuase even he likes laughter....

So a preacher wakes up on Sunday morning and has an urge to go play golf... It's March. He hasn't had a good day to do that since October and his flesh really wants to hit the links. So he calls in sick and suggests his associate Pastor take over. Heck.... He's been bugging him for several weeks to deliver a sermon, so why not?

So with his table cleared, his bases covered, he hits the links.... He hits a 61! Two under par! What's more he hits a hole-in-one, sunk a 45 foot put and hit an amazing chip shot out of the bunker that landed 1 foot away from the hole!

So, Gabriel and God are watching the game.... And Gabriel says, "Lord, that was an amazing round of Golf! But he negelected the flock and lied about it! Why did you allow him to have such a great round of Golf?"

God just chuckled, and said.... "Who's he going to brag about it to?"

This hits a little close to home!

Recently I "discovered" three members of our church has taken sickies to play golf and lets say it didn't go down all that well ;)

Certainly God does laughs at the wicked and foolish in their folly.

More than once I have been the victim of God's humor. All you can do is join in the laughter and take to heart the lesson learned. God is never at a loss for ways to discipline and teach his children. It is always uniquely fitted to temperament and situation.

Amazing! I had that same joke in mind and was wanting to share it with someone. Thanks!
