Spoken like a guy who doesn’t know his history . . .It depends on how you define church. I do not accept the Catholic definition. I define it as first century only.
Catholics try to define it as the early Catholic church, which did not exist until centuries later.
Constantine was a true founder of the Catholic church.
Catholic Church has never been universal, despite its claims.
The title Pope had been fought over for centuries. One would try the claim it and others would stop it and reject the title
completely.
The history of the Catholic Church by Catholic historians is pure fabrication. There is no outside confirmation.
Many of the so-called early church fathers would be outraged and reject the Catholic Church of today.
Ummm, first of all – the Church that Christ founded has been known as “The Catholic Church” since the FIRST century. We first read about it in St. Ignatius, Bishop of Antioch’s Letter to the Smyrnaeans in 107 AD:
St. Ignatius, Bishop of Antioch
“Follow your bishop, every one of you, as obediently as Jesus Christ followed the Father. Obey your clergy too as you would the apostles; give your deacons the same reverence that you would to a command of God. Make sure that no step affecting the Church is ever taken by anyone without the bishop’s sanction. The sole Eucharist you should consider valid is one that is celebrated by the bishop himself, or by some person authorized by him. Where the bishop is to be seen, there let all his people be; just as, wherever Jesus Christ is present, there is the Catholic Church” (Letter to the Smyrneans 8:2 [A.D. 107]).
There was no TV, no radio, no newspaper, no internet – just word of mouth. For Ignatius to have written to his readers using this term and expecting them to understand what he was talking about doesn’t make ANY sense unless it was universally recognized as “The Catholic Church”.
Secondly – Constantine was not IN the Church so he couldn’t have “founded” it. He wasn't even baptized until he was on his deathbed.
There is not ONE single document or decree to support your asinine claim.
Thirdly – your claim that the title of “Pope” had been fought over for centuries.
It might interest you to know that this is NOT a title of the Bishop of Rome. Over the years, he has garnered EIGHT official titles – and “Pope” is NOT one of them, Einstein. It is a term of endearment that simply means “Papa” (father).
The ONLY thing that is “pure fabrication” is YOUR moronic post . . .
