In short, Calvin did not believe that the Shroud of Turin was the actual burial cloth of Jesus Christ, not only because it was just one more relic, but simply because the Bible is apparently silent on the subject. In his opinion, the Shroud also seemed to be in direct contradiction with the gospels, especially John’s. In 1543, John Calvin, in his book Treatise on Relics, explained why the Shroud cannot be genuine

I have often wondered why it really mattered, to be honest. It’s by faith that I believe he died and rose, personally why would I need proof. To me it’s a worldly endeavour to have something that proves what people believe is valid.

Im simply reminded of what was said to Thomas.

“Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.””
‭‭John‬ ‭20‬:‭29‬ ‭NLT‬‬

While I continue to believe, even that the returned happen in that day in as promised. People continue to be blessed, for believing in him, faithfully. I don’t believe that there is really any need for proof, simple faith and believing and happiness follows because of how Yahavah, had loved all of the world. They decide and choose what they will believe but in the end, I truly do believe that once you move past and understand the cross, the rising again to new life is what brings us joy, faithfully.

We are part of Gods family, joint heirs with Christ. Some people are babes in Christ, some people grow up to be mature becoming sons and daughters of God, we are saved to the Kingdom of heaven (because of Jesus and how he makes us right with God and how he helps us by his spirit in our hearts.) Everything boils down to faith, and choosing to walk in the spirit over the confines of the flesh. Allowing God work in and through us.

I believe that there is a piece of God in every person, the thing is, whether they tap into him or not is truly by faith. It’s no an orthodox though, initially God will judge fairly at the cessation of human life. I’m not saying we ourselves are God but a part of God resides with all human life, in
my opinion which always may be wrong.
“Dear brothers and sisters, when I was with you I couldn’t talk to you as I would to spiritual people. I had to talk as though you belonged to this world or as though you were infants in Christ. I had to feed you with milk, not with solid food, because you weren’t ready for anything stronger. And you still aren’t ready, for you are still controlled by your sinful nature. You are jealous of one another and quarrel with each other. Doesn’t that prove you are controlled by your sinful nature? Aren’t you living like people of the world?”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭12‬-‭13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭5‬-‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬
“So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭15‬-‭17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭12‬-‭14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God. So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭14‬:‭12‬-‭13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Then, when all things are under his authority, the Son will put himself under God’s authority, so that God, who gave his Son authority over all things, will be utterly supreme over everything everywhere.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭28‬ ‭NLT‬‬

One question.
What difference does the shroud make to your faith?
Does it make it deeper, more real or has no effect?

If it has no effect the shroud is valueless.

If in someway it causes you to seek Jesus more, then it has value.

Even if real- it doesn't matter! Relics and sacramentals can never creatge faith to believe in Jesus.

As carl Sagan once quipped " I do not care if they find the Ark and parade it down main street, I will never believe in the flood!". Too often things like these become idols in stead of objects that can help strengthen faith that already exists.

Jesus Himself showed me in a vision that the Shroud of Turin is Him, and the face cloth too. Rest assured after Jesus's resurrection; somebody retrieved the burial cloths. After much testing, it has never been proven false or can anyone replicate it.

Show me in scripture where a shroud is referenced, surely if God wanted us to know what Jesus looked like he would have shown us and written about it.

its idolatry and will likely be used in a false coming, just as warned in Matthew:

23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

they are already making an AI false Jesus. Take heed you‘re are not deceived.

If you don't have the gift of visions and dreams or the Holy Spirit speaking to you, I cannot explain it to you.

I'm not asking for one from you, but surely rockerduck wouldn’t be the only person in existence if God wanted us to know, hence the warning about false comings to not be deceived. Better test those spirits.

God still speaks to His children. I've spoken the Holy Spirit and He to me. Believe what you want. I know Jesus and He knows me. John 16:13

Once again it may or may not be. It has not been proven genuine either.

I believe it is simply pone of those things whether real or not that remind of the most important thing- Jesus died and physically rose from the dead for us.
