(New living Translation.) The hardness of heart is a true thing which people choose and overtime their heart becomes harder and harder as the previous verses protest before these in Matthew 13.

God continues to work miracles even among unbelievers their choice is to faithfully unbelieve.

Angels left their abode. They made a choice.

“And I remind you of the angels who did not stay within the limits of authority God gave them but left the place where they belonged. God has kept them securely chained in prisons of darkness, waiting for the great day of judgment.”
‭‭Jude‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Adam had made his choice, and then he himself blamed God, and the wife which he had gave him.

“Then the LORD God called to the man, “Where are you?” He replied, “I heard you walking in the garden, so I hid. I was afraid because I was naked.” “Who told you that you were naked?” the LORD God asked. “Have you eaten from the tree whose fruit I commanded you not to eat?” The man replied, “It was the woman you gave me who gave me the fruit, and I ate it.””
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3‬:‭9‬-‭12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Man seemingly has a choice, that they have to make when it comes down to it, and so did the Angels in Heaven. These are just two scriptures that I base my reasonings concerning people having choices.

There are believers who choose faith;
“Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation. By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. It was by faith that Abel brought a more acceptable offering to God than Cain did. Abel’s offering gave evidence that he was a righteous man, and God showed his approval of his gifts. Although Abel is long dead, he still speaks to us by his example of faith. It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying—“he disappeared, because God took him.” For before he was taken up, he was known as a person who pleased God. And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Then there are people who faithfully place faith in unbelief.

“And they were deeply offended and refused to believe in him. Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his own family.” And so he did only a few miracles there because of their unbelief.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13‬:‭57‬-‭58‬ ‭NLT‬‬

These are just some of my own personal reasonings, Jesus gives a reason too.

““There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.””
‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭18‬-‭21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Everyone in this world has a choice; Just as Adam and Eve.

“The LORD God made all sorts of trees grow up from the ground—trees that were beautiful and that produced delicious fruit. In the middle of the garden he placed the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Another verse concerning choice: the choice to abuse John the Baptist, Matthew 17:11-13.

Again, because the people where offended by him, they “refused” to believe in Jesus, and he again could only do few healings and Jesus himself was amazed by their unbelief.

Every day is a choice, to have faith in the Lord Yeshua whom died, was buried and raised again, while things start at the cross, there is newness of life in being born again by the spirit.

The resurrection itself is part of the good news, so was his coming back, the great news today is that God is no longer mad at anyone because their sins was paid for. It’s just what will they do with this information.

image.jpg

It’s similar to the woman who had a problem for years, she heard about Yeshua, started to seek Yeshua, the founded Yeshua and she was healed because of her faith in trusting he was the messiah, and she was healed from her problem.

We go to doctors and that is not wrong to do. It’s the heart that needs healing ultimately to Love God and love others, by and through the strength of the Lord Yeshua.

Even in the afterlife, I still believe there is a choice… to remain outside the gates or to seek after God, but there people who simply refuse too do so…

Another choice, to abuse John the Baptist who was living in the spirit of Elijah, as the “Scriptures” Old Testament in their day had proclaimed.

As an old friend on here used to call it: "abundant death" rather than the "life more abundantly" of which Jesus speaks.

As an old friend on here used to call it: "abundant death" rather than the "life more abundantly" of which Jesus speaks.
Posting here a copy of an old writing of mine:

Death More Abundantly or...

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 10:10

In my own experience, and from what I have seen or read about in others, "churches" ... that is in the people forming church groups [denominations, assemblies, etc.] there really is a lot of this happening, taking hold of death instead of Life.

After a person has a real special personal encounter with God that first time, which should be the beginning of a growing relationship with God in which the person begins to become like God, what often happens? Someone has already established, or in the case of a new group establishes, rules, and has defined, or now defines, them in writing... or otherwise set in concrete. Now they have an order of services perhaps even supported [apparently] by scriptures but very often put into place by men according to what is comfortable or convenient for men.

These things are then done, including described essential doctrines, written creeds, etc., which so often effectively quench the lead of the Holy Spirit, which really was/is available to lead them. The newbies come in, unless they refuse to let go of what God has given them, and are taught and receive all of these streamlined ways to "death more abundantly" offered in so many places... including Christian Internet forums.

So then after perhaps really having begun their gatherings together with the Lord in lively Life-filled meetings it diminishes and down the way some may wonder what has happened? [Some of course blindly follow along toward the ditch... very close now, which they are never able to see.]

Apostle Paul admonished people with these simple words:

"Quench not the Spirit." I Thess 5:19

Very simple words, but by many never understood, or forgotten, or simply passed by... For too many who really had received Life, the Life, which Jesus brought, is it not effectively a fall back and a turn back to death? And as our friend @bbyrd009 has mentioned often a pursuit of "death more abundantly"?

"He must increase, but I must decrease." John 3:30

That is how the Baptist expressed it but doesn't it seem to anyone that someone has effectively reversed the words so that it is now too often the "old man" of people on the increase and the "new man" on the decrease? Moving away now from Life and plunging into death: On the way to salvation like Lot's wife but then turning back with a yearning look back toward death... and then dead, unmoving salt. A pillar in their church!

Hello John,

That is an interesting insight. I know I been in and out of many churches. There was some the focused on making it hip and cool especially when I was a teen. Then there was churches who were like pentacostal in nature.

About two years ago, dude kept talking about Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, songs for about 25 minutes or so, and then read like one section of some random verse in the Bible.

There was all kinds of things in hypercritical not of the people but of the church itself in what is represented. I don’t trust any church any longer, and I find some of the means gone through as emotionalism, I’m not really judging the people themselves but the church and the way it functions. It just doesn’t make sense.

I though we go there to learn the Bible, and what it means for us today, I found a person who did such work and he helped me by the spirit of Christ in him. I don’t believe everything he said all the time, and he always like never trust me, read your Bible and test all things and find out yourself.

All the music, the coffee, the energy drinks and games, and antidotal stories doesn’t help us learn when we can actually hear a person it could be a woman it doesn’t matter to me anymore. Just going chapter by chapter and helping us understand it at least being lead by the spirit and trying to be true the nature of the contents, benefits people more than the other things.

In the end, I think I see what your friend is saying, in some churches they say do this, pay your tithe, be a members do as we say, and the focus of Jesus and his eternal life given nature slips away from us.

Mark 6:
4. But Jesus said unto them, A Prophet is not without honor, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his house.

Jesus grew up in Nazareth and 'prophetically' in fulfillment, He shall be called a 'Nazarene'.

Moreover, 'prophetically' in fulfillment, the 'Messiah' is to be born in the city of David, 'Bethlehem'.

But the Jews also claim Jesus is from Galilea, and a 'Galilean'.

John 1:
46. And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth?

Now, is it a matter of choice by the Jews, or a matter of fact, a mind set ordered by GOD?

Romans 11:
8. (According as it is written, GOD hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear:) unto this day.

Shalom in Jesus name
