No, imo the SoaP was not drawing the snakes. The rejection of manna was, which is another symbol i guess, then we get the quail and some more Wanderers dying, and i guess let's not forget that out of some million plus ppl, two make it in. Personally i am more convicted of eating quail, but i also worshipped Nehushtan most of my life, i see now.

These are just natural stages of spiritual growth imo, Worshipping Nehushtan and Eating Quail are just symbols for lessons that we have to learn on the way. So now i would put it that Jesus' crucifixion represented the Snake on a Pole, and not the other way around. Iow By His Stripes We Are Healed alright; when we pick up our cross and follow. Lighting candles and bowing a knee to Jesus will not work, no matter how much you scrape or cry real tears of genuine overflowing emotion. Confession leads to salvation

Another perspective is Jesus Did Not Die For Your Sins, as Isaiah makes plain. But this might be an uncomfortable reflection also, at least at first. Again, if you search the phrase and reflect on some of the links, these ppl are not trying to lead anyone away from Christ.

God did not need a Scapegoat to die for your sins as the religious are anxious for you to believe, and even Jesus makes plain that no sinners enter heaven. Even though that is completely misconstrued too, heaven is believed to be a place that one might attain in the "afterlife," etc. (Mithraism, or the Cult of Sol Invictus)

I am one of those people who truly believes God name Jehovah is the most Holiest of all names because he is the most loving person, he is the epitome of Love and Satan slandered God's name by calling Jehovah God a liar and saying Jehovah God is an unfair and unjust ruler and judge and Satan says that Jehovah God doesn't care about what is in our best interest. Look at the world we live in you honestly think the majority of the people in this world loves the True God Jehovah, the Father and God of Jesus Christ who is the Only-Begotten Son of Jehovah. By the choices we make in our lives we show we either believe the Only True God and his Only Begotten Son( John 17:3) or we believe Satan. I find it shocking that the only True God personal name YHWH has been taken out of Bibles and even though nowhere has God given anyone permission to do that but people think God personal name is so insignificant. Today we don't know the exact pronunciation of The True God personal name represented by the four Hebrew letters YHWH and people today don't care. Even though it was God who put his personal name in the scriptures people reason some kind of way that God did something wrong by putting his name in the scriptures after all isn't it true people used some reason they have taken the True God personal name out of the Scriptures and guess what whatever the reason is it's a bogus reason. How do I know that? Because as I said its was the Only True God who put his name in the scriptures, you will find nowhere that God gave anyone permission to take his personal name out of the scriptures. People don't care about that today. Most people today will also come up with some feeble excuse why it's ok for God personal name to be out of the scriptures. What genuine lack of Love for the Only True God and his personal name that is, but you honestly believe people will think that way.

I recently within the last few days saw the Trinity in one verse. Check it out. Romans 8:9

9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

My favorite Trinity verses are when Jesus is being baptized and the Spirit alights on His shoulder as a dove, and Gods voice from Heaven : Matthew 3:16-17 "And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him. And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." 1-Jesus is present 2-The Holy Spirit is present in the form of a dove 3-The voice of God from the Heavens. All 3 together at the same time.

Also there is Genesis 1,2 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters."
Gen 26 "Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness" Was God speaking to Jesus here? So...I can get a feel of the Trinity here too. Spirit-hovering. God saying let US make man in OUR image-So, The Spirit is hovering over the waters, God is speaking to Jesus=trinity?? Just a thought!!!!

Well I use more than one Bible and they all don't translate this scripture the same some of them translate it as the word was God(god) and some translate it as the word is a god. I guess the Bible I like most is NW Translation put out by the Watchtower. It's easier to understand and although I know a lot of people will disagree I honestly think it to be more in tune with the Hebrew and Greek languages of that time period. Oh the NW Translation translate John 1:1 as the word was a god.

When I have a question, I look up whatever verse I question the wording by the Young's Literal Translation. It is not biased.

John 1:1 (YLT)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God;

And I have many translations also. Sometimes if the literal translation doesn't help, I'll read the passage in a paraphrase - The Living Bible, then compare what it says to NKJV or NASB.

Paul referred to the Gentiles practice of idolatry in 1 Corinthians 12:1-2 Verse 3 was a way to discern tongue speakers that were idolaters and thus unbelievers in their midst in 1 Corinthians 12:3

Paul signified indirectly that the manifestations of the Spirit is not given by having another drink of the One Spirit; 1 Corinthians 12:11-13

Paul did signify what the manifestations were for in the body of believers; to profit the body withal. 1 Corinthians 12:7

Paul signified that the manifestations is not for individual use in 1 Corinthians 12:19-21

I went through 1 Corinthians 14th chapter by taking the truths mentioned in the 12th chapter in how to read the 14th chapter. Paul was exhorting believers that if they seek spiritual gifts, they were to seek the gift of prophesy over all spiritual gifts at the beginning in verse 1 AND he began to explain why by comparing the gift of tongues to the gift of prophesy in proving why prophesy is better because tongues needs interpretation; tongues is not a stand alone gift.

Paul is not teaching how any one can use tongues privately as if for all those benefits when he just got through telling everyone in chapter 12 that the manifestations is not for individual use OTHERWISE that would be the same as telling the assembly that he or she has no need of them because they have more benefits with doing tongues privately than in the assembly.. which is not true when Paul admits that as a tongue speaker, he prays that someone else may interpret so that the tongue would be fruitful to himself once he understood it.

To make sure every one understood him, Paul gave the bottom line on tongues that they were of other men's lips to speak unto the people.

That is why when some one speaks in tongues but no interpretation is coming, he is to be made silent. So how can Paul tell that person to be silent if he was really speaking in tongues if the Holy Spirit led him to do? Because there was no interpretation, the Holy Spirit was not leading him to speak in tongues. That is why Paul says he speaks to himself and to God meaning he understand s what he is saying as God does too; not that he is talking to himself and to God in 1 Corinthians 14:28. That is how I read 1 Corinthians 14:2 is that God understand what he is saying when he speaks in tongues as led by the Spirit, but the tongue speaker does not; that is the real God's gift of tongues as opposed in the one in verse 28 because the one speaking understands what he is saying as God does too. The point of verse 2 is to show why prophesy is better because tongues is not a stand alone gift that it needs to be interpreted for that to be edifying not only to others, but to the tongue speaker as well when read in context.

John 16:13 in all Bibles testify that the Holy Spirit cannot use God's gift of tongues for speaking unto others through that believer and turn it around to be using that tongue for Himself as a means of praying to God through that believer.

Pagan tongues was not the case in chapter 14, anywhere, nor now that they were Christians. And in chapter one, Paul praises them saying "you come short in no gift." 4 I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, 5 that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, 6 even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, 7 so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8 who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

You are half right about tongues not being a stand alone gift. The sign of tongues IS a stand alone manifestation. The gift of diverse kinds of tongues, must have interpretation. You honestly are not aware of the difference???
