Exactly so.
Jesus came to seek and save the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
It reminds me of what my counselor recently told me which is: multiple things can be true at the same time. I can see how Jesus came to seek that which was lost in Ecclesiastes, where those lost were driven away. Yet I can see those in need of a physician came to Him, seeking Him. My husband has asked before how all those who ran or ignored the crowd, seeking Him, knew to seek Him out when others said He was a fraud. But I also can see it can also be true that what He sought which was lost was life. But there again that life lost was concerning people, so it can also be true it’s those without life in them, those in need of a physician which He sought to give Life unto, that they held strength in weakness, that the power be of God and not men. for example when He told the woman by the well that if she asked of Him (He wouldn’t be as others who told her there wasn’t enough to be given to her) but indeed if she had asked Him…He indeed would give (the answer not being “no” “there is not enough for me and you”, He would have given unto her Living Water. <that one passage we can read it as “if she had asked of Him” as her failure to not ask Him, as if it’s to only those who are good enough and they do the ground work, OR what He is making clear… when you ask certain men they will exclude you and drive you away. His magnifying Ephesians 5:14 Wherefore he saith, Awake you that sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light.

Also, I can see it can also be true that what He came to seek that was loss is …to be as God, or made in His image. Something man loss. All the fruits of the Holy Spirit are a stark contrast to the works of the flesh. We read of God does it for our profit that we may share in His holiness. <something that was lost. So rare men strive to be as God. but He come that you be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of God.

He came to seek that which was loss
1)those sick and in need of a physician? <that they may have Life? More abundant.
2)even those excluded in the tribes that had been given no place? Same as you gentiles who were excluded from the promises.
3)to restore man to “in the image of God”? That which was loss? Mercy, grace, forgiveness.
4)Life, so not all is in vain, empty and unprofitable.

Verses to consider: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: [2] a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; [3] a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; [4] a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; [5] a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; [6] a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; [7] a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; [8] a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:14-19 I perceived that whatever God does endures forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. God has done it, so that people fear before him. [15] That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been; and God seeks what has been driven away.

From dust to dust
16] Moreover, I saw under the sun that in the place of justice, even there was wickedness, and in the place of righteousness, even there was wickedness. [17] I said in my heart, God will judge the righteous and the wicked, for there is a time for every matter and for every work.

John 4:21-27 Jesus said unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour comes, when you shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. [22] You worship you know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. [23] But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeks such to worship him. [24] God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. [25] The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias comes, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. [26] Jesus said unto her, I that speak unto you am he. [27] And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman:
Jesus come to seek “that” which was lost …
yet no man said, What do you seek? or, Why do you talk with her?

I get that is a lot, possibly seeming pointless. Point is I can see how it can be He came to seek “that” can also be “them; for “that” which was lost in “them”. John 17:22-23 And the glory which thou gave me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: [23] I in them, and You in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that You have sent me, and have loved them, as You have loved loved Me.
…Multiple things true together in One.
