Anyone can claim James supports the faith and no obedience to God salvation.
Is it your idea that people are saying obedience doesn't matter, and we can obey, not obey, whatever?

Much love!

Now did the apostle Paul get Holy Spirit baptism the moment he believed as faith onlyist teach?

No, he got Holy Spirit baptized three days later after he believed in Christ!
Decontructing individual circumstances to determine doctrine to me doesn't seem accurate. Cornelius was baptized in the Spirit before even responding a word. Seemingly different things happened to different people.

And can you say conclusively when that moment of reliance on the truth about Jesus actually began? What was in the man's heart? Not just "what it sounds like", but with Biblical authority?

Much love!

Now, all I have to do is show you one example of someone who got saved by the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Then you will see that faith and obedience is what saves us.
Not faith without obedience.
The point here is . . . You are saying, "faith with obedience", I am saying, "faith that obeys". These are two different things, on a combo of faith and works, the other, a particular kind of faith.

Does that make sense?

Much love!

Yes, absolutely!

Acts 9:6-9
Paul immediately obeyed Jesus' command and went into the city waiting for what he must be told to do.

Would you come to complete faith in Christ if he came directly to you and told you with His own mouth that he was Jesus the Messiah?

Paul certainly did come to faith in Christ because he immediately obeyed Jesus.

Regardless when did Paul say the Lord washed away His sins?
At faith alone?
Or when he was water baptized?

Acts 22:16
And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Any honest person knows Paul did not receive forgiveness of his sins until he obeyed Jesus' commandments
Mark 16:15-16.

Paul did works of obedience.
Paul did not merit his salvation because of his obedient faith.

The more I read and re-read, the more I realize you are plainly saying that we are not saved until we do the works.

So then doing the works merited his salvation. We will remain in disagreement over that, I'm afraid.

Much love!

Did Cornelius get saved by Holy Spirit baptism?
Or did Peter say he was saved by hearing the word of the gospel?

Acts 11:14
Who will tell you words by which you and all your household will be saved.
Cornelius was not saved by Holy Spirit but by hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Hypothetical questions won't help us. I only go by the statements of the Bible.

Any honest person knows Paul did not receive forgiveness of his sins until he obeyed Jesus' commandments
Mark 16:15-16.

Ok, nevermind. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

I'm going with that over your certainty of what was in Paul's heart.

Much love!

You just said Paul merited his salvation rather than accepting the true gospel of Christ has obedience to His commandments, Mark 16:15-16.

Again no way Paul merited His salvation by being baptized into Christ, Acts 22:16 ; Galatians 3:26-27; Colossians 2:12

Obedience to Jesus' gospel does not merit anything, Hebrews 5:8-9.

That he was baptized in the Holy Spirit indicates that he had believed. Baptism into Christ IS being saved.

We don't have to speculate period!
When did Paul say his sins were washed away? Hmm?

Acts 22:16, when he obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ, Mark 16:15-16

Peter had not yet taught Cornelius the gospel when Cornelius had received the gift of the Holy Spirit,
Acts 10:44.

Peter taught it was not until Cornelius heard the gospel that he got saved, Acts 11:14.

If Cornelius received salvation before he learned about Jesus.
Then Cornelius was saved before he believed in 1Corinthians 15:1-4.
That is being saved without Jesus!
Cornelius was saved when he heard the gospel and obeyed it.

I meant that as what you are saying, sorry if that wasn't clear!

:)
So you too!
You are going to speak falsehoods about me and say I taught Paul merited His salvation?
I made myself clear.
Paul did not merit salvation by obeying Jesus' gospel.

Answer my question.
When did Paul say His sins were washed away?
a). When he believed in Jesus.
b). When he obeyed Jesus' gospel, Mark 16:15-16 and was water immersed, Acts 22:16.

Simple question. Can you give an answer?

Where did Paul make a statement one way of the other?

Acts 22:12-16 KJV
12) And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews which dwelt there,
13) Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him.
14) And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.
15) For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.
16) And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Here, Paul is telling what Ananias said. Is that what you are thinking of?

Much love!
