Yes and temptation comes when one is drawn away...-
Temptation is derived from your own lust.
12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Temptation is not sin but lust is...sin begins when you lust. Temptation comes when you are drawn away from Christ... It begins with the person. If the person is in Christ it is unlikely he will be tempted. Temptation comes when one is drawn away from Christ by his own personal (lusts)desires."Lust of the Eye"....is usually the issue.
"I want THAT......no matter WHAT".........
See how the lust has taken over the mind?.....And you will then do it., as what is in your mind is what you are going to do next.
The NT says....>"be in the world but not OF it"....to a Christian....and this is explained as..>"all that is in the world is LUST of the EYE".....ect.
To be "worldly", is to be owned and controlled by your own lust that desires what you SEE which becomes what you think about that decides what you do.
"Temptation" is not sin.....the sin begins when you DWELL on the Temptation, as at that point you have left noticing it, and have entered into the doing it stage.
That person who looks at someone, and in their mind, and wants to have SEX with them has already been drawn away from Christ...and in the process of lusting. That is sinning.Jesus said....."if you look at someone, and in your mind you want to have SEX with them"......its the same as doing it, as you have already become engaged with the desire to do it, to pursue it.
want is not the problem, lust is...Final analysis : Its not wrong to WANT, as we all want.....but its wrong when you want what is wrong for you, as defined by The Law as a SIN or by Paul as a work of the Flesh.
temptation only affects those who are already drawn away by lust...and even so, God makes a way of escape, therefore we are without excuse...Temptation is the open doorway that leads to sin.
You decide if you go through the door.
1 Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
No, our mind is not like a big screen, that lust just comes on a channel. People lust because they don't want to control their fleshly desires.Remember that your mind is like a big screen that you are watching.
So, if something comes to the screen that you recognize is LUST< then just change the channel. Change the screen, instantly, as if you dont, you will watch it, and then you will do it.
No, the temptation is not the problem, the temptation is a sign of an impending problem. God always makes a way out of temptation.Temptation is not the problem....its the DWELLING on it, that is the power that will lead you to commit a sin, a work of the flesh.
1 Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
There is no screenChange the screen.
this is the best advice ever...Renew your mind.
