What you mention I have heard also, so it might be the case. But I do know that Othman took on a strategic effort to destroy all written Qur'anic manuscripts that differed from the one he liked. Having destroyed all the old manuscripts, the Muslims have a very limited way of supporting any readings you find in the Qur'an. Mistakes will creep into the manuscripts but since they destroyed all their old manuscripts there is no way of deciding which reading is correct.Interesting topic, thanks.

My understanding it that the Qur'an was originally an oral tradition.
But when those who were carrying the tradition from memory started dying off.
They need to write it down before it was lost.
The oral tradition varied widely from tribe to tribe. Thus the need to standardize the "text".

That approach is also somewhat illustrated by the "Cult of Mary" and the Devil.
The "cult of Mary" replaces the Bible with "Church Fathers" writings, teaching, doctrines... who keep "completing it" with whatever they decided was their next theology for the last 15OO yrs.
This is why a Catholic will argue "Catholic Doctrine" when they meet a Bible Believer.
This is why a Calvinist will argue their Calvinism, when they meet a Bible Believer.
Whereas the Devil.......what He did, was get some non-christians like "Westcott and Hort" to subvert some Greek texts and this created a lot of doctrinal errors., and a Bible with a lot of Doctrinal Errors.......Like the NIV........is how the Devil creates a "new" bible.

It has come in and grown worse over the years . It has many who now do its work .
Believing they know GOD and LOVE and yet know neither GOD or LOVE .
Their god and its love has turned them more and more against THE GOD and HIS LOVE , HIS GOSPEL .
And bruce , ITS GONNA GET MUCH WORSE and fast . The cost is gonna be the cost .
But i refuse to conform to this wicked lie they call love and to heed this other god they think be GOD .
We should have stuck in the bible for our learning .

Yes the lie , that which is of anti christ has long been around
but NOW REIGNS over much of christendom . It has exploded and specially as of late .
Make no mistake a total reprobation of minds has been unleashed unto
a peoples , who despite the long suffering of GOD , wanted no reminder of him in even thier conscious .
Now romans one is real . but this is a world wide reprobation and it grows darker and larger by the hour .
We fear it not . but expose it I WILL no matter the cost to me . I have become as a sparrow upon a roof top
as the hatred of even the very churches i do love has had them cast me away . But i am not angry nor resentful .
My desire is good for all and even to those who hate me most . I shall warn , no man can stop me .
I shall point to CHRIST and by grace do as i must . Though the more i do love the more i be hated .

You're right, but I also see a gathering of the remnant of believers who I pray will mobilize to fight the devil and the demons in their attempts to bring down God's people. My hope is in the God who is all-powerful, all-knowing, present everywhere, and eternal in contrast to the puny power of the evil forces through the victory of Jesus' cross and empty tomb.

Amen! Every day, I fight the battle against the devil and the demons and for the spread of God's gospel, church, and kingdom throughout the earth, mainly through God's gift of prayer as well as through my church's commitment to reach out to unbelievers.
I will tell you this, you wont find me fighting the devil and his demons. Christ prayed that we would be kept from Satan, not battle him.

So, then, how do you respond to Paul's commands in Ephesians 6:10-20? There God through the Apostle tells us to fight in God's army against the devil wearing his armor and using prayer.
Paul does not advise us to attack, but to stand. of course, the armor of God are all spiritual doctrines and we have those to STAND on when Satan throws his darts at us, but we are only advised TO STAND, not to attack. I guess I don't call standing fighting.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil one. We do not attack Satan, we rely on God's Word to stand against the darts.

Paul was basing his observations about armor on the Roman soldiers' armor, to which he was probably attached in his house arrest in Rome when he wrote this letter. You're right in saying that we stand against the devil, but James wrote and commanded us in 4:7b, "Resist the devil" with his promise that Satan will flee from us. Why do you think that we must remain passive all the time in the warfare against him? "Resist" means resistive action, but I'm sure it means prayer to the Lord that he will overcome their influences and attacks through Jesus' victory.

If we think of "the devil" as spiritual darkness.. or as evil in the world..
WE can take a stand against it.
We can take a stand against Child Porn and Sex Trafficking .
We can take a stand against "powers and principalities" that promote turning a child into a Transgender "It", while denying the parent's have a right to stop this situation.
We can stand against 2 Gay men, adopting baby boys.
We can take a stand against '"no limits on" Abortion., or Abortion in General.
American Christians can take a stand against the Dem Party trying to replace them with Illegals, by Voting against it.
So, thats a small list, and behind all that, is the Devil...so, when we take a stand against so many evil situations, we are resisting Him... taking a Stand against Him.
What is the best means, to stand against the Devil?
Help someone find Christ.
Help someone who has be captured by a CULT theology.
Help build a NT bible believing church.
Support Missionaries
Give to a Good Ministry that is helping the Poor. I'd suggest The Billy Graham Ministry, if you are looking.
