No, being an author is God's calling to me in my retirement from being a pastor in seven churches. He has given me the spiritual gift of creativity through writing. I just finished the first draft of a historical novel that is my 14th book. At the age of 82, I'm thankful that God has given me productive activities to use my time six days a week. I rest from it on Sundays.

I used to like to draw pictures when I was younger. I wasn't talented. My oldest brother was gifted. He showed me several pictures he drew. When he was teenager. He drew his art teacher. His teacher was mind boogled at it. I met another person few years ago. I saw his drawings in he showed me from folder. It was equal to my brother's drawings. They were gifted. Take care.

You don't always have to be gifted to draw or to write, you just need to be willing to be used as a vessel by God.

I agree to extent. Spiritual gifts are given by the holy Spirit to believers to edify body of Christ, and serve God. While physical gifts are natural talents and abilities one is born with. Not attributed to the Holy Spirit.
Sister, there is a difference. 1 Corinthians chapter 2. Not many Christian people have holy Spirit. Many people have Spirit of Stupor.

I think that spiritual gifts are abilities given to us and guided by the Holy Spirit.
