Hello deconstruction.

Atheism, is the obvious over-reaction to escaping a religious upbringing.

Study on this issue shows people going in many different directions both toward and away from religion.

This video outlines the frustration involved in deconstruction.

Let's discuss.

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Psalm 14:1 KJV

1 Timothy 5:8 KJV
............... ,he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

If one denies the faith, then they deny God & are a fool & worse than an infidel.

Here's a video that shows two people going in opposite directions in their spiritual journey.
Is one right and the other wrong? What's happening here?

Religion, theologically speaking, is the submission of one's will to the will of God. How that is done, however, is the crux of the problem, for some. By the Natural Law, we were created to seek the highest good, which is God. That's why even cave men were seeking God, although very poorly, by worshipping animals, the sun, etc.

Some people, I think, become atheists because they view God as some sort of competitor, or in some instances, they are rebelling against their parents (and by so doing, God).

Hi, I didn't watch the videos.

But what about just keeping a simple faith in Christ as your Savior and walking with Him day by day? And that means knowing what Christ says and promises us, of course.

It's difficult (and intellectually dishonest) to turn a blind eye when a person hits a wall in their faith.

To be clear, I can retain my faith in God, but I am left with unresolved issues.

Anyone can experience that moment in their faith. And some walk away.

For me the BIGGIE was the hell doctrine.

And once you discover a hole, they may begin to appear all over the place.

I'm sorry you are having doubts. I just believe in what the Lord says. If don't understand something, I leave it to God. His ways are beyond our comprehension.

Thanks. Not sure I would call them doubts.
I would say that many of his ways are well within our comprehension.

This is a basic problem with Christianity.
No questions = believer = heaven
Questions = unbeliever = hell

It's actually a REAL test of faith when all the religious props begin to fall away.

Will I still trust God:
- when I can't trust the church?
- when I can't trust the Bible?
- when I can't trust church doctrines?
- when I can't trust other Christians?

If my faith was built on these things...
I would have lost my faith long ago.

Recently I did a topic titled:

Five reasons why you aren't a "true" Christian - Are you toast?

Even though I have been upfront that this topic is a spoof on "true" Christianity,
No one (as I recall) has given these questions a hard look, or re-evaluated them.
Let's take a look now. Note: This is a quiz. Give yourself 20 points for each "YES" answer.

1) You have the right doctrine and can prove it. - YES or NO?
Obviously, this describes a "Christian" who is at odds with everyone outside of their little tribe.
Is that what it means to be a "true" Christian?

2) You read your Bible and pray for one hour every day. - YES or NO?
While these would be a good practice for someone who had the time,
it is a ridiculous expectation to saddle a believer with.
Is that what it means to be a "true" Christian?

3) You are winning souls for Christ every week. - YES or NO?
While it is good for us to be open with people about our faith,
soul-winning quotas are another ridiculous expectation to saddle a believer with.
Is that what it means to be a "true" Christian?

4) You never miss a church service. - YES or NO?
Once again, does church attendance prove you are better than others?
Is that what it means to be a "true" Christian?

5) You give financially to the church WAY beyond your means. - YES or NO?
Again, While this would be a good practice, it is not the measure of a "true" Christian?

What are your thoughts?

Atheism, is the obvious over-reaction to escaping a religious upbringing.

Atheism and its sibling agnosticism is noting more than a spiritually darkened mind that has not come to Light of the the revelation of God, yet.

God says that these are "without excuse" as all of Creation proves the existence of God..

Paul's verse says...... and here is the paraphrase......

"you can't have creation without a Creator".

Romans 1:20

I found a real freedom when I released myself from the madness of religion.
But honestly, a disconnectedness comes with it. It's a trade-off.

I watch others being crushed beneath the weight of their chosen path.
But I don't speak up until I have earned their trust.
(except on the forum where I am free to speak my mind whenever) - LOL
