Sabbath and Sunday are different. Very different. Sabbath was instituted by God at creation. It was blessed by God, sanctified by God, made holy by His presence. It was a gift for mankind. Jesus said so. Thus at creation, like everything on the other 6 days, the Sabbath was a gift. Who for? Not for Jews, as they didn't exist then. It could only be for Adam and his progeny. And it has been remembered and observed on the 7th day of every week since then. If it were altogether forgotten, we would have 6 day weeks.
Sunday on the other hand was instituted by a pagan emperor in the 4th century as official Roman law, and adopted by the Roman church in the 6th century at the council of Laodicea. It was never sacred. Originally it was pagan. Dedicated to the sun god. But like so many other innovations by the apostate church, was baptised as Christian and reinvented...but not by God.
Certainly history records that Christians in the early centuries. began to observe the 1st day. But this was not as a result of Bible study or divine revelation. Originally, the first day was observed to keep a distance began the NT church and the Jews, in order to show to the Romans saying, "hey guys, don't persecute us, we're Christians. We don't keep the Sabbath, we ain't Jews". This was during intense Roman hatred of Jews as a result of fanatic Jewish uprisings. But this was after the Jews created prayers and liturgy that forbad Christians from participating in the traditional Sabbath services in the synagogue, which they faithfully continued to do since the time of the apostles. The change therefore from Sabbath to Sunday was a slow one, but because the apostles were a slow study and didn't know the truth, but because p persecution, first by the Jews, then by pagan Rome , and followed later by papal Rome. Catholicism has always held antipathy against the Sabbath, and sought to destroy it from church practise since the 6th century. Now protestants are joining the crusade against it by teaching nonsense on Christian forums, like declaring that God abolished His own hand written commandments.
