Is America Becoming A Force For Evil In The World?

No I'm not an America basher and I certainly love my country and have for all my life been considered very patriotic. But over the last 20 years these events have occurred:

1. We dropped bombs in a conflict in Bosnia that we didn't fully understand causing even our allies to label us a "hyper-power"

2. We used subsides to turn corn into a cash crop resulting in an inflation of food prices all over the globe that affected the poorest nations the most; all in the name of fighting the global warming myth

3. We invaded a sovereign nation based on flimsy and specious evidence; a nation that had not attacked us and didn't pose an imminent threat to our security.

4. We deliberately gave guns to Mexican drug cartels via American gun shops in hopes that the ensuing bloodshed would effervesce into an outcry for more gun control.

5. We use drones to illegally enter countries with whom we are not at war to surgically strike targets on our "hit list".

6. We propped up African warlords guilty of genocide

7. And now we're getting ready to enter yet another war that we don't quite understand, being tricked (as we were in Bosnia) by the use of chemical weapons that can't be credibly linked to Basher Al-Assad and may have very well been used by the rebel forces on themselves to solicit our involvement.

And I'm sure this is a list that can be added to. I think we've gone a long ways from the time when we were seen as liberators, as champions of the free world that stood up to world evil. It grieves me to see my country becoming the oppressor and in my opinion that's what is fast happening.

There is also the Obama administration's success in creating a general state of Chaos in the Middle East aiding the Muslim Brotherhood and assorted terrorist organizations in toppling the Qadafi government in Lybia, helping to get a Muslim Brotherhood (MB) candidate elected in Egypt (who was thankfully tossed out by the military), supporting the Taliban/Hamas/ Al-qaeda/ISIS/ MB side of the Syrian civil war, withdrawing fro Iraq before they were able to quash ISIS, letting Iran, the foremost supporter of Fundamentalist Muslim terrorism in the world, continue to develop their nuclear weapons program, and making Israel his personal enemy.

At home, he has consistently promoted racial discord, approved of rioting, looting, and arson as a legitimate form of protest, and encouraged rage against the police resulting in the assassination of two NYC policemen.

However, in his quest to eliminate world peace and promote lawlessness (using himself as a prime example of a scofflaw) he is not supported by the majority of American citizens.

So I would say, no, America is not becoming a force for evil but Barak Obama most certainly is.

When Bush was in office, the Democrats thought America would be better off without him. Now that Obama is in office the Republicans think America will be better off without him. It is a nauseous cycle that repeats itself every four years and the American people are too gullible to realize they are conned each and every time. There is NEVER a difference!

Does the reader need to be reminded that under Harry Truman, a Democrat, the constitutional mandate that only congress should declare war was first subverted? Every military act since then has been illegal according to our own law. Every soldier, sailor (including yours truly) and airman who participated in American military adventures abroad is guilty of lawlessness and international war crimes. Does the reader need to be reminded that under the administration of Bush the second from 2003 to 2010 the United States racked up a debt of over 1 Trillion dollars on its illegal war on Iraq - a war, I might add, that WE incited(1). During that same period, the US became involved in over twenty wars and shadow wars many of which continue to this day.

The people of the United States today are addicted to war. Lust for blood and destruction has consumed every thought and the idea that a peaceful solution might be preferred is more alien than predictions of the second coming of Jesus Christ. All that we have built and hope for is now heaved happily onto the funeral pyre of constant warfare by a nation that is drunk on murder, lies and destruction.

Brutal and pointless battles will continue until we learn to love our children more than we love war.

Look around you. Read the newspapers and watch the evening news. Does any of it look like blessings for America? It is time for all Christians to humble themselves before God, confess our sins and ask for His mercy upon our persons and our families.

There will be no blessings for America for a very long time.

(1) During the Iraqi war with Iran, Kuwait extended its northern boundary into several Iraqi oil fields. Iraq was too involved with Iran to do anything about it. Knowing that Kuwait was a US client state, Saddam Hussein didn't want to involk American wrath by any military action even after the Iran campaign ended. Following the end of its disastrous war, Iraqi leadership decided to replenish its finances by selling oil for gold - not dollars. This move sealed Hussein's doom.

In July 1990, the United States led Saddam Hussein to believe that America would have no objection to an Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. Goaded into war by Washington, Iraq invaded a scant month later. It was a setup, pure and simple and the rest, as they say, is history.

Indeed Mr. Clemons was the greatest American wit. He and Will Rogers of the 20th century were able to make very pointed remarks about American society and politics and do it with a smirk. They made folks laugh and think at the same time. There are a few pundits today who approach that point, but none do it so well.

I agree with you in part. The misplaced nostalgia (or nausea as the case may be) begins with programming of the young in grade school. All the young. All the time. Today the focus has shifted away from religion and towards a more fascistic philosophy(1), but its basically the same.

The greatest oddity among protesting Americans are those who "want their country back." Partisan political issues aside (which are the real reason for their protests, btw), these folks generally deny the reasons why "their country" was lost. Reckless governmental fiscal policy, trade agreements that suppress small business and allow our factories to move off shore, the rise of the financial cartels that act with impunity to garner wealth beyond imagination and ruin individual lives as well as a national policy that justifies war to support the aforementioned captains of finance and trade.

Social programs are generally decried as some sort of crime against the nation by folks who gleefully cash their social security checks and rely upon medicare benefits for their health. Those programs which in past years had given real hope to the disenfranchised and powerless among us have been abandoned. The result is mob rule in the streets of our cities.

Social programs which in the past gave us artists, educators, medical professionals, engineers, and philosophers (some of whom support the Christian ethic with great intellectual capacity) are now abandoned like so many cars along the interstate.

I am not my brother's keeper is the rule of the day. Do we really want our country back? The one that was once legendary for its charity within and abroad? It has died and been replaced with constant unjust military aggression abroad and police equipped with military hardware and killer attitudes at home.

No indeed. We do NOT want our country back. We are proud of the new fascist police state we've created. We just want our WASP politicians in office. Unfortunately, that's dead too. Like all dead things it stinks. The thing we must do is bury the stinking thing, admit our governmental policies are wrong and move to correct them for the benefit of all.

If that means decommissioning half the Navy fleet(2) and withdrawing the Army from all its posts worldwide so as to fund social programs which are constructive rather than destructive - so be it.

(1) Fascist indoctrination in schools up to and including High School graduation are meant to equip students with basic survival skills for life, but increasingly are focused on teaching to take positional tests instead. Post graduate trade schools and community colleges (I work for one) have a general focus of indoctrinating their students to support the retail industry. There are some exceptions such as medical arts, but by and large these students are taught to be bean counters. The slightest flicker of individual thinking is quickly extinguished. Always. I know. I've seen it in practice over and over. Even the instructors are so devoid of creative thinking that they barely function in the classroom.

(2) The US Navy is larger than the next 17 nations combined, 12 of which are our allies. Is this really necessary? The US armed forces are larger and better equipped than every other military on the planet? Why? To support the hegemony of our bankers and lords of trade or to police our own borders?

I don't think it is too late for our country to take a better economic track, but that won't happen if no one makes the effort to sound the alarm and affect that change.

Even in the US many businesses and farms were held by banks unless the owners were wealthy and could own them outright. The poor and even many in the middle class owned NOTHING but the contents inside their homes.

And in many times even those could be taken from you to repay debt.

I know quite a bit about Native American tribal society... as you just pointed out, everyone is a "have" in their society because they work for the mutual benefit of everyone, and people get a share according to the importance of the work they do... That's far different from the cogs I was talking about who are enslaved by today's greedy haves. They get rich off the importance of the work the cogs do.

I think people hated Jesus for the same reasons you mentioned. He owns everything, He is not motivated by greed, and does He need to feel superior by enslaving those who work for Him. We willingly give our lives to Him. And we will inherit His kingdom one day... very different from the paradigm I mentioned earlier...
