Some include the land division. But it doesn't matter what they think. The word could include a lot of things and is not restricted to customs or tongues etc. What is known is that the continents did separate/divide sometime in history. That much we know. So if history started with Adam and creation week, then it has to have happened sometime after that.Gen 10:

All these commentators agree that "the earth was divided" refers to the people of the earth being divided into nations and languages. I would like to see any scholarly references interpreting this as the earth being divided into continents.
The issue is whether we believe in creation as an actual happening as Genesis states or not. Do you?
